Healthy Weight Loss
Healthy Weight Loss is basically dependant on a list of "Dos and Don'ts". The problem is that there are so many people out there offering their opinion on what we should and shouldn't do to lose weight and many of them who "think" they know, are actually giving you false information
Here is my list of well researched healthy weight loss tips, I hope you find them helpful
DON'T...
DON'T forget that although calories count, it is no use counting calories and not taking sensible account of the need to eat healthy weight reducing foods.
Don't reduce you calories too low as your body will think it is in starvation mode and reduce your metabolism.
DON'T go it alone. Get support from others.
DON'T be fooled by the latest fad diet. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
DON'T drink your calories – eat them. Solid food provides greater satisfaction and provides the body with what it needs to function optimally.
DON'T let others tell you what's right for you. You need to lose weight for yourself.
DON'T set unrealistic goals. You should expect to lose about 1-2 pounds per week. That is realistic.
DON'T get distracted. Losing weight takes time.
DO.........
· DO monitor your progress. Weighing yourself once a week and taking your measurements. Measurements can often be a better indicator of progress
· DO choose to eat healthy, wholesome foods from all of the food groups. Get the essential nutrients you need, whilst making appropriate choices for weight loss.
· DO exercise. Anything more than what you're doing now is a plus, but a personally tailored exercise regime will show results much quicker.
· DO eat a protein rich breakfast every day.
· DO eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, to ensure there is plenty of fibre in your diet.
· DO learn positive coping skills so that you don't turn to food for comfort.
· DO drink at least six 8oz.glasses of water every day.
· DO eat enough food to satisfy you. Starvation is not the way forward
· DO benefit from the experience of others who have successfully lost weight and maintained their weight loss
These are just a few healthy weight loss tips to get you started. I hope you find them helpful

Weight Loss Tips
Are you struggling with weight loss? Don't know how to go about losing those extra pounds? Not to worry, you need some good weight loss tips.
Weight loss tips are practical and are easy to follow. To get these tips, you can search for weight loss tips on health related blogs and web sites that are dedicated to health related products.
Your first tip:
Did you know eating one meal every 3 hours you will speed up your metabolism? If you eat too much you will gain weight. You would be wise to focus on eating small balanced meals every few hours to keep your metabolism going strong. Focus on what you have to lose this now and not this year. This is really critically important.
One of the most healthy weight loss tips says to eat fresh fruit:
Eat apples, bananas, carrots and low-fat dip, or celery and low-fat dip instead of chocolate. It’s important to eat only fresh fruit, not canned or frozen fruit. Of course, fruits and vegetables are not only filling, but they also promote healthy, safe weight loss.
Eat a high protein snack before your family dinner during holidays to avoid feeling starved when you sit down to eat. This way, you avoid overeating once the food arrives.
More weight loss tips to help you with losing weight:
Eating fruit for breakfast will get you on the road to a healthier body without having to pump iron at the gym or take empty supplements. Also very important to weight loss is sleep. Proper sleep reduces stress and keeps a healthy and fit body. You are too blessed to be stressed, remember that.
What is the meaning of diet?
Diet simply means the combination of foods we eat everyday; but usually, the word 'diet' is used to simply mean some form of restriction on eating. Well, why do we eat? We eat to feed our bodies with natural and nutrition rich food. To be safe, consult a health care professional before starting a diet and exercise program.
If you are overweight, you are not healthy, period. If you are obese, you are flirting with death. Yes, it is just that serious; check out the information on TV, the Internet, news, health magazines and newsletters that try to alert you to the facts of obesity and being overweight.
Obesity is a real problem, especially in the United States. Obesity is a scary word, but even worse is the fact that it has grown into an epidemic. The reality is that our society has been conditioned to eating fast food (junk food) and created a fast way to get food that makes us fat. Sure, junk food tastes delicious, but it doesn't have any nutritional value. ‘Real food’ tastes even better naturally and your body wants and needs it. We need to seriously change how much and what foods we eat. If foods you choose are not nutritious and beneficial to promoting good health, then they need to be eliminated from your diet. Your body is your temple and you should listen and give it what it needs or suffer the consequences.

Natural Weight Loss
Weight loss is a very important issue for many overweight people, most of whom do not understand the principle of eating only the amount they need for the amount physical activity required. What most people do not realize is keeping at the right weight is much, much easier than losing it.
It is important to realize that maintaining a healthy weight is far more than just for looks though as the number of health problems related to weight and obesity grows. The right approach to weight loss is to eat the right quantity of the correct foodstuffs which includes what are known as complex carbohydrates, a reasonable amount of protein and an adequate fat content, in particular Mono Unsaturated Fats that can aid the weight loss process.
It is a great misconception that if you are eating something that is fat-free then you won't be adding extra fat to your body but all food contains calories and if they are not burned off then extra weight will be put on in the form of fat. The term fat-free can be a trap if you start to believe that you can eat any amount of the foods that are advertised that way but is better to respond to hunger with healthy snacks.
Some health care specialists believe that a natural weight loss method is to eat smaller meals and healthy, nutritious snacks every 3 or 4 hours, but avoid missing meals because regular eating can get you into good habits. Maintaining a healthy weight is just that; a natural weight loss program that will continue and enable you to live a long healthy life.
Everyone craves those sleek curves and that flat stomach. While many Americans stay busy with work and daily television programs, exercise is not typically on their list of priorities. With the abilities of plastic surgery and instant fixes, people are always in search of a shortcut. A prime concern with this quick-fix method is the results. Natural weight loss offers a much sounder outcome. Having your thighs vacuumed will not put an end to your weight gain. Achieving and maintaining a nice figure is no simple matter. It's an ongoing process.
A daily regimen of exercise can keep our weight down and our bodies toned. Only when you change your diet and lifestyle can you achieve permanent success.

Healthy Weight Loss
There are many weight loss regimes that are completely scientific in their approach. Many people forget that the human body is very finely tuned and needs careful treatment if it is to function optimally and the same goes for healthy weight loss and weight gain. If you feed your body with the wrong foods you may find it reacts badly.
For example if your blood sugar is going up and down then it's the time to think that something is wrong. If it is not balanced then your body will stop using up energy and will convert it into fat and store it and ultimately you won't lose weight. Research shows that the best foods for enjoying good weight are those that don't cause a sharp rise in blood sugar levels. Are you overweight and want to drop a pound per week? Don't lose hope! Even if you're addicted to junk foods, all it takes is a few simple food changes and you can enjoy a good healthy weight loss and peaceful life with a flat belly.
Chromium is essential for maintaining blood sugar because without it the insulin that controls the blood sugar level within the body would not function. Foods containing chromium, like onions, licorice, cinnamon etc have this property. Foods that cause blood sugar to rise are generally any foods containing pure sugar and refined carbohydrates. They cause the body to produce insulin, which makes you crave food constantly, leading to weight gain. The answer is to have more complex carbohydrates and foods like almonds, quinoa, millet, hummus, avocado, lentils, and walnuts. All of these foods will actually help you to achieve natural weight loss the healthy way
If you make these substitutions, you'll not only look slimmer, you'll be healthier too in both the short and long terms. Controlling your blood sugar levels can give you enough energy and fight against variety of health conditions including diabetes. It can also ensure the healthy weight loss you so desire.

Weight Loss
Fast weight loss is generally not recommended but many people who want to diet consider that if they haven't lost seven pounds in their first week the diet isn't working, often this is achieved with weight loss pills. Nutritional experts now believe that safe weight loss is the way forward and incorporates a whole range of dietary regimes that have an emphasis on losing weight using more natural processes. The safe weight loss programs of the modern dietitian will not include anything that forces a restrictive diet on the person losing weight nor will they accept any man made appetite suppressants or physical activity that just tires the dieter.
Whenever you start a diet, you have to set some definite goals that are to be achieved at the end of several stages so a dietary program is not a body torture. This way by making small adjustments in your safe weight loss program they will become more of a habit and be accepted by the body as you gradually lose weight.
Consider supporting food restrictions with some natural supplements based on green tea extract in combination with ginseng; Hoodia cacti and guarana products are also highly recommended during this period. By using these natural products along as part of your safe weight loss diet you can ensure that you will lose weight lowly, but maintain your energy level without the need for additional food and stay healthy as well.
While these are excellent supplements to take as they are natural, if there are other pre-existing health conditions like heart, diabetes or cholesterol you will need to discuss this first with your doctor. Exercise programs should be designed to help burn calories and while this ok for people who are overweight buy there are no other medical conditions, those who have problems are not advised to carry out this type of activity. If you are someone with a cardiac condition, the only type of exercise which will be safe for you to pursue is a gentle walk but for only limited amounts of time.
Walkers should not be alarmed if they feel tired at least to start with and should rest whenever they need to as their stamina will gradually improve and this can be helped along by gentle massage sessions that will help the circulation and muscles. Many people prefer swimming as it exercise the whole body but can be less exerting as the persons weight decreases and is not as tiring plus people with heart problems can normally carry this out safely after they have had the all clear form their doctor. If you are taking weight loss pills remember that some are safer than others and those to be avoided have ephedra and bitter orange as part of their ingredients.
This is not to say that the product does not work because bitter orange in the correct dosage is efficient but unfortunately this is not always the case with online suppliers. One particular example of this subterfuge is the number of products that allegedly contain Hoodia which is very rare and does not come cheap so be wary of people offering it to you at a discounted price as your safe weight loss relies on the safety of the products you consume.

Weight Loss Tips
Here are some weight loss tips from experts that are bound to help in your goal of losing weight:
Before you tear into that bag of potato chips, drink a glass of water first. People sometimes confuse thirst with hunger, so you can end up eating extra calories when an ice-cold glass of water is really all you needed. If plain water doesn't cut it, try drinking flavored sparkling water or brewing a cup of fruit-infused herbal tea.
Mindless eating occurs most frequently after dinner, when you finally sit down and relax. Snacking in front of the TV is one of the easiest ways to throw your diet off course. Either close down the kitchen after a certain hour, or allow yourself a low-calorie snack, like a 100-calorie pack of cookies or a half-cup scoop of low-fat ice cream. Weight loss is a result of eating less and burning off the excess calories so mindless eating won't help in the long run.
Instead of cutting out your favorite foods altogether, become a slim shopper. Buy one fresh bakery cookie instead of a box, or a small portion of candy from the bulk bins instead of a whole bag. You can still enjoy your favorite foods; the key is moderation. It would also be wise to try to cut these foods out eventually to ensure that you maintain your weight loss.
If you eat fewer calories than you burn, you'll lose weight. But when you're hungry all the time, eating fewer calories can be a challenge. "Studies show people who eat 4 to 5 meals or snacks per day are better able to control their appetite and weight," says obesity researcher Rebecca Reeves. She recommends dividing your daily calories into smaller meals or snacks and enjoying most of them earlier in the day. Dinner should be the last time you eat.
Protein is the ultimate fill-me-up food for those wanting to achieve weight loss; it's more satisfying than carbs or fats and keeps you feeling full for longer. It also helps preserve muscle mass and encourages fat burning. So be sure to incorporate healthy proteins like lean meat, yogurt, cheese, nuts, or beans into your meals and snacks.
Having ready-to-eat snacks and meals-in-minutes on hand sets you up for success. You'll be less likely to hit the drive-through or call in a pizza order if you can throw together a healthy meal in five or 10 minutes. Here are some essentials to keep on hand: frozen vegetables, whole-grain pasta, reduced-fat cheese, canned tomatoes, canned beans, pre-cooked grilled chicken breast, whole grain tortillas or pitas, and bags of salad greens.
Well, that ought to give you some ‘food for thought’ and a few weight loss ideas. Try all of them and have fun while losing weight and staying healthy. Enjoy your weight loss program

Weight Loss Tips
Do you wonder why you are overweight? Do you make excuses as to why you are overweight?
Are you over weight and eating too much?
Well, I have news for you. Over eating, very little exercise and lack of nutritional education are among the main reasons many people become obese and over weight. I think we should re-structure our school curriculums and emphasize nutrition classes and exercise. Obesity has now been classified as an epidemic and one of the leading causes of disease and death in America. Hello there, do you realize this is a matter of life and death? Respect your body and be good to yourself and start a weight loss plan. These weight loss tips can set you on the path to weight loss.
Almost all healthy individuals who eat the right foods cringe at the thought of foods we put into our bodies. Think about seriously about this:
Weight loss tips and information you can use to help with safe and healthy weight loss:
From a nutritional standpoint, some of the scariest foods are the deep-fat fried concoctions you can find at carnivals and State Fairs. Americans have tossed everything from turkeys to Twinkies in the fryer, but have you ever heard of deep-fried cola? Debuting at the Texas state fair and winning the creativity honor at the Big Tex Choice Awards contest, was this deep-fried, Coca-Cola flavored batter, drizzled with cola fountain syrup, and topped with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and a cherry. What will they think of next? For them, if it tastes good, that’s all that matters. Weight loss will not happen for people who eat and drink such foods.
Big, Bigger, Biggest Burgers are what most Americans want to eat. They think bigger is better and especially if the cost is minimum. There appears to be no end to the amount of calories and fat you can fit onto a bun. Weight loss is out of the question for people who eat too much. It begs the question, “do you eat to live or live to eat”?
And the list doesn't end at fast-food chains. Ever hear of the "Hamdog"? This culinary creation from the former Mulligan's Tavern near Atlanta starts with a hot dog padded with cheese and half pound of ground beef. That's dropped in the fryer, then loaded onto a hoagie roll and topped with chili, bacon, onions and a fried egg. Mulligan's was also famous as the home of the "Luther Burger," a giant bacon cheeseburger with a Krispy Kreme doughnut for a bun.
Remember, big or more is not always good for you. A little common sense would help when it comes to weight loss.
Among all of the weight loss ideas, this is sad but true; why do most people think more is better? Big, Bigger, Biggest Burgers: Help! Please, someone call the food police! Of course, "most people know when they order one of these that it is not good for them," says Jayne Hurley, RD, senior nutritionist for the watchdog group, Center for Science in the Public Interest. After a while all of that food becomes like a drug and you are “hooked”.
If you are thinking of your health, try ordering a plain burger with sauce on the side, along with a side salad. The bottom line is that we should eat no more than 20 grams of saturated fat per day. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's 2005 Dietary Guidelines recommend no more than 2,300 mg of sodium per day (equal to about 1 teaspoon). If you're salt-sensitive (that is, if your blood pressure is highly affected by salt), the number drops to 1,500 mg. Weight loss tips if followed, can be a life preserver for you.
Respect yourself; your body is your temple and you must keep it clean and healthy. Your life depends on it.

What Is Weight Loss
Over half of all Americans are overweight, meaning they are at a weight that is associated with increased health risks. Weight loss is a priority issue for most of us and yet it is a constant struggle. Scientifically, there is a very simple explanation of weight loss. Simply burn more calories than you consume.
Women have more body fat throughout their lives as compared to men. After menopause, women generally gain weight. Research is still conflicting as to whether this is due solely to menopause or solely to age (because men also typically gain weight as they become older), or perhaps a combination of age and menopause. Our ability to maintain weight loss is hampered also with age. I myself feel this also may be caused by my creaky knees and legs, which makes long walks a bit more difficult.
When women are taking hormone replacement therapy, they are just as likely to gain weight as women taking a sugar pill (placebo)and have the same difficulty at maintaining weight loss. This means that the hormones are not causing the weight gain but rather that menopause itself, in conjunction with age, is likely to be responsible.
Whether you are trying to lose 5 pounds or more than 50, the same simple laws of physics determine whether or not you will lose weight and how fast your weight loss will occur. Remembering these simple guidelines and putting them into practice can lead to weight loss without the aid of any special diet plans, books, or medications.
Our weight is determined by the amount of energy that we take in as food and the amount of energy we expend in the activities of our day. Energy is measured in calories. If your weight remains constant, you are probably taking in the same amount of calories you burn each day. If you're slowly gaining weight over time, it is likely that your caloric intake is greater than the number of calories you burn through your daily activities.
Everyone is in control of the amount of food he or she consumes each day, so our intake of calories is something we can control. To a major degree, we can also control our output of energy, or the number of calories we burn each day. The number of calories we burn each day is dependent upon our basal metabolic rate (BMR), the number of calories we burn per hour simply by being alive and maintaining body functions and our level of physical activity.
For some people, due to genetic (inherited) factors or other conditions, the resting metabolic rate (BMR) can be slightly higher or lower than average. Our weight loss is determined also by how many calories we burn at rest -- more calories are required to maintain your body in its present state, the greater your body weight. A 100-pound person requires less energy (food) to maintain body weight than a person who weighs 200 pounds.
Lifestyle and work habits partially determine how many calories we need each day. Someone whose job involves heavy physical labor will naturally burn more calories in a day and have faster weight loss than someone who sits at a desk most of the day (a sedentary job). For people who do not have jobs that require intense physical activity, exercise or increased physical activity can increase the number of calories burned which will increase your natural weight loss.
As a rough estimate, an average woman 31-50 years of age who leads a sedentary lifestyle needs about 1,800 calories per day to maintain a normal weight. A man of the same age requires about 2,200 calories. Any amount of calories less than this number will usually result in weight loss. Participating in a moderate level of physical activity (exercising three to five days per week) requires about 200 additional calories per day.
As you can see, weight loss is just a matter of taking in less calories than your body burns. I know this is the scientific explanation for weight loss, but somehow, I've never been able to see it as that simple.

Write It All Down For Double Weight Loss
I am about to share an article I found while cruising the internet. It is written by USA Today. I was almost physically ill when I read it. It made me realize what an idiot I have been for almost 50 years of trying to lose weight. I have spent a small fortune on gyms, weight watcher meetings ,multiple types of weight loss diet plan, keeping various sizes of clothing available at all times, and all this time, all I had to do was write down what I was eating!
According to this USA Today article, dieters who write down everything they eat each day lose twice as much weight as those who don't and this is based on one of the largest weight-loss studies ever conducted. This confirms the importance of keeping a food diary — advice that nutritionists and weight loss programs have pushed for years. I do seem to remember being told to do this, but it flew right over my head.
Scientists at four clinical research centers recruited 1,685 overweight or obese adults who weighed an average 212 pounds. Forty-four percent were African Americans.
The participants were offered 20 weekly group sessions led by nutritionists and behavior counselors and encouraged to try to lose at least 9 pounds in six months. They were told to consume about 500 fewer calories a day, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, do about 180 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a week, and keep daily food and exercise records. This was the only weight loss regime they had to perform.
After 6 months, they found out that the ones who wrote down what they ate every day lost twice as much weight as the ones who didn't. I am beside myself with anger. You mean to tell me I could be a size 8 instead of a size 16 if I had only written down what I was eating all these years. I figure the physical activity alone of writing all that down ought to amount to a few pounds of weight loss.
Well, there you have it. The secret to weight loss has been found. Get those pencils out girls and start writing it all down and double your weight loss.

Weight Loss
I have been on a number of diet and exercise programs over the years,
and I have achieved the most success through a common everyday
activity. Walking and weight loss go hand-in-hand. It may seem too
simple to be true, but I have more success losing weight and keeping
weight off through a walking program than I do on a structured
exercise program. I have lost more through a walking program than
through dieting as well.
I discovered the walking and weight loss connection while I was a
student in college. Most freshman college students gain between twenty
and thirty pounds in their first year at school. For the first time in
many students' lives, they have to make their own decisions about
eating and exercise. Many students' walking program consists of
walking from the dormitory to the classroom and back.
I was one of the students who had no real walking program. I didn't
make the connection between walking and weight loss right away. I
wound up gaining twenty-five pounds in the first semester of college,
but I didn't realize that I needed to connect walking and weight loss
until I tried dieting.
Before I started a walking program in school, the idea of walking and
weight loss being so closely tied together did not occur to me.
Instead, I tried changing my diet. I ate salads at nearly every meal.
I had no breakfast and I did not really have a whole meal until the
evening. I probably only took in about nine hundred calories each day,
but I did not see very good results. I had to think back to a time
when I was fit to make the walking and weight loss connection.
I was a heavy student in high school and I dieted a lot. One diet was
very successful for me during the end of my high school career. I was
involved in an after school program that I attended every day. Since I
could not ride the bus home from school, I simply walked the two mile
commute home five days a week. I did not consider this an actual
walking program, but it really was. The only differences between my
lifestyle in high school and in college were that I ate more and I
walked almost every day.
Once I made the walking and weight loss connection, the rest was easy.
I just started a simple walking program that consisted of taking a
relaxing walk at least three times each week. I did not really worry
about dieting, but I made sure to eat breakfast and to eat small meals
throughout the day. I also avoided eating after eight o'clock in the
evening. Within a few weeks, I found myself proving the walking and
weight loss connection. I lost the twenty five pounds.
A simple walking program can be tremendously effective to help you
lose weight. Of course, as with any program, you must stick with it.
Now get out there and start walking!

Natural Weight Loss
One of the major desires controlling our society today is to be thin.
Everyone craves those sleek curves and that flat stomach. Natural
weight loss seems to be obsolete these days. No one wants to work
for those trim legs anymore.
While many Americans stay busy with work and daily television
programs, exercise is not typically on their list of priorities.
Everyone wants to be in shape, but there has to be an easier way.
With the abilities of plastic surgery and instant fixes, people are
always in search of a shortcut. Why spend an hour at the gym for a
few months, when you can just head to the doctor for a nip or a tuck?
A prime concern with this quick-fix method is the results. Natural
weight loss offers a much sounder outcome. One thing we should always
remember in life is, if it's too good to be true, then it probably is.
Having your thighs vacuumed will not put an end to your weight gain.
Achieving and maintaining a nice figure is no simple matter. It's an
ongoing process.
When we eat healthy, we feel better. A daily regimen of exercise can
keep our weight down and our bodies toned. This method of healthy
weight loss is typically the best and safest way to go. You have to
remember that when you keep a horrible diet and simply resort to going
under the knife for a prompt solution, nothing is really gained. The
weight will come back. Only when you change your diet and lifestyle
can you achieve permanent success.
Natural weight loss isn't referred
to as natural for nothing. When we allow our body good nourishment
and low fat, it takes a natural path of its own. By adding a daily
exercise routine, we boost our metabolism, which keeps that weight
down. Plastic surgery is all too often misunderstood. Many do not
understand the measures that must be taken prior to and after the
surgery. Your diet certainly plays a part in the surgery's success.
Not to mention exercise is necessary for proper healing. It's not
just a quick in and out.
Whether you're struggling with your weight or simply trying to drop a
few pounds, natural weight loss is usually the best path.

Weight Loss
The problems with obesity are many and because our overweight society is aging, we are seeing an increase in physical problems associated with obesity. As the obese begin to age, there appear many aches and pains plus even more physical abnormalities that are associated with the damage done to the body by obesity. Because the obese are suffering more pain with age, we see the prescribing of Lortab increasing and the side effects of this increasingly become apparent. Lortab is one of the prescribed medications for many of these aches and pains. One of the side-effects I experienced while taking lortab was weight loss. Lortab weight loss may appear at first to be a good thing, but the associated addictions that are very possible with lortab makes it an extremely dangerous way to lose weight.
Lortab is a narcotic analgesic containing hydrocodone and acetaminophen. It is habit forming, and you can become physically and/or psychologically dependent on this medication. Lortab is available in tablet, capsule, and liquid form; and when prescribed is taken every 4-6 hours by mouth. The hydrocodone found in Lortab can lead to addiction if abused or overused. Lortab is a combination of Hydrocodone barbituate and Acetaminophen. Lortab, when used medicinally is given by mouth either in tablet or liquid form.
Lortab is a combination drug, with a narcotic painkiller which is also a cough reliever called Hydrocodone barbituate, and a non-narcotic painkiller called Acetaminophen. It is a very commonly prescribed drug given to ease moderate to moderately severe pain, mainly after some kind of surgery, for people with arthritis or suffering from sports relate injuries and many types of muscular pain.
Drug addiction involves compulsively seeking to use a substance, regardless of the potentially negative social, psychological and physical consequences. Certain drugs, such as narcotics and cocaine, are more likely to cause physical dependence than are other drugs. Drugs also reduce a person's level of consciousness, harming the ability to think or be fully aware of present surroundings. Because you are in a semi- conscious state while on this medication, you will not be hungry and the natural effect of not eating is weight loss, thus the reason why it is called lortab weight loss.
If one is on this drug for a period of time, the body adjusts and you lose the semi-conscious state, and will feel a euphoria. This very pleasant feeling is why Lortab is so addictive. Once the realization of lortab weight loss occurs, you also have the psychological potential for addiction. Drug addiction involves compulsively seeking to use a substance, regardless of the potentially negative social, psychological and physical consequences. This becomes true especially if you have struggled with your weight for years and suddenly find it is easy to drop the weight with the use of the drug.
Lortab weight loss is not worth the price you will have to pay for the addiction. There is physical pain associated with the withdrawals from the drug. If you find yourself addicted to Hydrocodone or Lortab, seek professional help to regain control of your life. There are many other avenues to healthy weight loss that does not involve losing control of your life and suffering the ravages of drug addiction.

Weight Loss Tips
I recently read a very interesting article that suggested that obesity was "socially contagious" Apparently a new study recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine concluded that if one sibling is obese, the chances of another sibling becoming obese increases by 40% (55% amongst siblings of the same gender). Likewise if one spouse becomes obese the likelihood of the other spouse becoming obese is increased by 37%. In mutual friends the risk increased by 171%. The researchers of the study believe that it should be possible to harness the same force to slow the spread of obesity.
Weight loss and fitness clubs are not new to us. Weight Watchers and Slimming World being two that have been successfully helping individuals with their weight loss for many years utilizing the power of social support.
Most people who are striving to lose weight will be aware that there are some essential elements that are crucial to a successful weight loss campaign. Good nutrition is vital as is the addition of resistance and cardio training. More recently it has been agreed that another important element is mental attitude and the need to be positive. Now we can add another dimension to a successful weight loss regime, that of social support.
Although slimming clubs are ideal for some people, they are not everyone's idea of fun and many would be slimmers would rather follow their weight loss regime in the privacy of their own homes. But this doesn't necessarily mean they have to do it in isolation. The support of friends and family can be a vital element in anyone's campaign as they are the people we see on a daily basis.
This is probably one of the most important weight loss tips you will receive. Social support can either cause or cure obesity. If you are not getting the support from your friends and family then you need to look further afield.
Remember that obesity is the single greatest contributor to chronic disease and the growth of obesity related diabetes. It is also worth remembering that "if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got" It is no use blaming other people if your weight loss is unsuccessful. Look to yourself and make the necessary changes. Change your diet, increase your exercise, work on your positive mind set and surround yourself with positive supportive people.
"People take on the nature and the habits and the power of thought of those with whom they associate within a spirit of sympathy and harmony"
Napoleon Hill
A social support group will offer you:-

Lose Weight While Eating Out
You can learn how to eat out at restaurants and still lose weight. In today's society, you will find it almost impossible to avoid eating out in restaurants, so some basic information on how to eat in restaurants and still lose weight is what you will need.
You should avoid richly fried foods, they are not good for your health, and this has nothing to do with dieting. Raw vegetables and fruits are the best foods to help you lose weight quickly, and they are readily available in restaurants, especially if they have a salad bar.
Here are four tips that will help you lose weight while eating restaurant food:
1. Eat at vegetarian restaurants: To be safe, I advise you visit only restaurants that serve vegetarian meals. Non vegetarian restaurants are only allowed, once you understand how to eat out, and still lose weight. You have to know how to spot high-calorie foods and high-fat foods. Those are the ones that must be avoided at all cause until you get control of your eating habits. Controlling your habits is key to eating out and still being able to lose weight.
Most restaurants serve ordinary chicken meat, and you should only be eating lean chicken meat. Ordinary chicken meat is fatty and should be avoided. Most restaurants don't offer the choice between the two, and that is why you should stick with vegetarian restaurants.
2. Avoid all types of salad dressings: Many give information on the types of different salad dressing: lite, non fat and low carbohydrate, and state that they don't add to your weight loss problem. Not true. Avoid salad dressings as they are high in fat and calories. Ask for fresh lemon wedges and squeeze the juice over your salad and raw vegetables. As you already know, raw vegetable helps you burn fat by increasing your metabolic rate.
3. Buffet style is affordable: Buffet style is the most affordable meals served today, but they are very rich in calories, and the fried foods should be avoided at all cost. These meals are prepared in fatty oils, and will not help you lose weight. So, while going with the buffet meals, choose the salads, fruits and other healthy alternatives. You should try to avoid eating any type of meals prepared in oil or fat. Grilled meals are great, but only small portions. Practice these weight loss habits faithfully, and your restaurant experience can be a joy for you.
4. Avoid big meals: The amount of food you eat, is actually a measure for the amount of weight you will gain. You should limit the amount you eat. Smaller portion are better than huge amounts digested over one meal. Remember, we are trying to eat 4-5 meals a day. You can't eat everything you need at one meal. Don't over eat. Save some for another day, that will help you to stop over-eating and help you lose weight. You can visit a restaurant once or twice per week, just monitor what you eat, and how much. But, stick to your diet plan, and don't forget to exercise at least three times per week to maximize your ability to lose weight.

The Weight Loss Plan
Weight loss is something that some people try to do once in a while. Some are naturally thin and never have a problem with this no matter how much they eat, but not everyone is that lucky. Losing weight is what you want!! Losing weight is known to provide us with more energy and allows us to carry out tasks that those extra pounds do not permit, which can all lead to improved self confidence.
The goal to lose weight is not rocket science. It requires no special diet, no special foods and no special exercise program. Weight loss is a process which requires a lot of work and discipline and you need to be really serious about getting it done. It's not something you can be done quickly if you want to maintain your health. Losing weight is a science; therefore, we must take a scientific view of how we gain weight in the first place. For example, did you know that 80% of all people who are overweight battle food addictions and tend to be emotional eaters?
Losing weight is all about your eating and exercising habits. Many of us have no eating and exercising habit, we just eat what we want, when we want it. Weight loss requires no special diet, no special foods and no special exercise program. Losing weight is simply the result of a chemical reaction in the body which causes stored body fat to burn and be used for energy.
Losing weight is a major concern for many people and they do get frustrated and stop their efforts after some time. Long term weight loss is all about losing it smart. You should aim to lose your weight forever and not for a temporary period only. Losing weight is one of those things that can, at times, be overwhelming or frustrating. At other times, it can be exciting and adventurous. Weight loss requires a plan and your desire to work that plan.
Weight loss is a process and in order to achieve permanent result, you need to stick to the basic principle of weight loss. Avoid doing things that can make you overweight. If you don't have the right attitude, you won't last long and will simply go back to the same lifestyle and habits that made you overweight. Losing weight is a process which requires a lot of work and discipline and you need to be really serious about getting it done. It's not something you can do that quickly either. Weight loss is all about eating right and exercising. These are lifestyle changes that require you to take one step at a time and change your habits.
Healthy diets are about moderation and good nutrition. Have a piece of cake but don't eat the whole thing and don't have it everyday.
Feeling good about yourself ultimately means you'll be kinder to yourself. The greatest gift is the gift of great health.

Weight Loss
Obesity is fast becoming a world wide epidemic. people are frantically looking for the latest fad diet offering fast weight loss.
Apart from those who are suffering from obesity, losing weight is one thing that most people have had to face at some point in their lives. Obesity is one of the leading causes of death and in many instances it is preventable and treatable. There are many weight loss plans to choose from. One of the most popular choices
currently are low carbohydrate diets.
A low carbohydrate food plan is based on the premise that the dieter
only eats foods that aren't high in carbohydrates. There have been
several well known weight loss diets that fall into this category.
Many books are available that explain in detail how the diet works and
gives examples of low carbohydrate foods and meal plans.
Although these types of diets are successful for many people, there
are aspects of eating strictly low carbohydrate foods that are a
concern. Many low carbohydrate food plans encourage eating a large
quantity of high fat foods, such as beef. Red meat has health benefits
when it's consumed in limited portions. However on a low carbohydrate
plan more beef is consumed and for someone with high cholesterol this
can be something to moderate.
Eggs are also another food that many people on a low carbohydrate diet
consume. As with red meat, eggs are beneficial when eaten in
moderation but most medical experts warn against consuming them on a
daily basis.
Quite often on a low carbohydrate diet the individual will lose a few
pounds very quickly at the onset. This is true with many diet plans.
On a low carbohydrate plan as with the others this is caused by water
loss. It is a good motivator though and when a person who wants to
lose weight, sees the weight on the scale decreasing they are excited
and are more likely to stick with the plan.
As with any other diet, exercise plays an important role in success.
Although some people following a low carbohydrate plan may feel
listless, getting active tends to help with that. The exercise routine
doesn't need to involve visiting an expensive gym or purchasing
equipment. A daily walk or slow jog is an excellent way to get
exercise and improve weight loss. If you don't like walking alone than take
the family dog along, it will enjoy the change of scenery and exercise
too.
Before starting any diet plan it's wise to talk with your doctor. This
includes any of the low carbohydrate diets. Drastically changing your
eating habits can have a strong effect on the way your body functions
and it's a good idea to keep your doctor abreast of what you're doing
Finally, remember that any weight loss diet is only truly successful if you are able to maintain that weight loss in the future. Your diet must be well balanced and must provide the nutrients needed for your body to function efficiently.

Quick Weight Loss
Quick weight loss diets could be the solution to achieving your weight loss goal. If you're sick and tired of carrying around those unwanted pounds, I have good news for you. Quick weight loss is possible.
But the challenge is keeping the pounds and inches off. Quick weight loss diets are not intended for prolonged use. With some of the fad quick weight loss diets, your body will think you are starving, which you might be, and it will go into conserve mode. Although you may not notice a problem at first, your body will soon stop responding to the diet and the weight loss will reach a plateau.
Quick weight loss diets can be hard to find, but yet so many people are looking for that quick weight loss fix. Some people find quick weight loss works for them if they may be going on holiday in a few weeks, or have a big party in the near future and want to look their best for this. Quick weight loss is possible and many people are successful in retaining it for lifetime. Quick weight loss diets are hardly new. However, embarking on one causes a significant change in your dietary and nutritional intake.
Diets that make the promise of rapid weight loss do not provide the nutritional balance needed to maintain your weight loss. Lifestyle changes provide the opportunity to lose weight in a healthy manner and to keep it off forever. Diet pills and the like do not work. Companies that make them would not continuously have to make new improved formulas if the last one was as good as they said. Diets also fail when you neglect exercise, which is an essential part of all successful weight loss programs.
Diets like these may actually lead to further complications that can set your weight loss program back. Those diets requiring you to remove healthy fruits and vegetables from your diet may not be what is always needed for your body to safely lose weight. Dieting takes a certain level of determination and willpower, but just like there are varying levels of willpower, there are varying levels of difficulty in diets to match. If you are the type to quit easily, start an easy weight loss program like Weight Watchers that allows you to slip a little, but still lose weight.

Weight Loss Plans for Teens
Healthy weight loss plans for teens are rare. Most people think that overweight teens will usually get over it, but what they don't realize is that teens have to go through ridicule and embarrassment among their peers. Healthy weight management can be a way of life for teens, just as with adults. Weight loss plans for teen are workable and will give you the best results viewed in an upbeat manner.
Healthy weight management is a process that will work much better when it is looked at with a positive attitude. Healthy eating simply means following two basic steps: variety and moderation. This is essential when setting up a weight loss plan for teens. Success is absolutely dependent upon variety and moderation. Be very upbeat in your approach and motivate with lots of love. This is a very emotional time for teens, and the need to feel successful in this endeavor is very important. Each milestone should be celebrated until the goal weight is met.
Drinking plenty of water is also recommended. Often simply drinking a glass of water will help curb any hunger pains one may experience. This is a time to turn the weight loss plan for teens into a teaching experience. Teach your teen to drink at least 8 - 8 oz glasses. If they drink a full glass of water before they eat, they will naturally eat less food as their stomach will be quite full already. Drinking at least six to eight glasses of water a day keeps the body refreshed. Since weight loss depends on how the body eliminates body wastes, the body must stay hydrated.
Have your weight loss plan for teens include drinking more milk and protein shakes. Protein shakes has an effect of making you fill full all the time. This is the main reason why people always drink protein shakes at breakfast. Drink about 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Make sure a good percentage of the foods in your weight loss plan for teens are alkaline. This would include lots of colorful vegetables. Have a large variety and set out vegetable trays for snacking. These are habits in eating that can be developed. Drinking that 10-glass requirement throughout the day will help your teen regulate their eating because even water does make you feel temporarily full. Be sure to include lots of crunchy fruits and vegetables to help curb the need to munch.
Protein is the secret to success with any weight loss program. Make snacks available with low fat protein like turkey and chicken. I find the protein shakes works best for teens. The obese teen needs lots of encouragement to maintain their lifestyle changes, but they can be successful with motivation from their loved ones.
Weight loss programs for teens can be challenging, but they are possible to maintain with the keys of variety and moderation.

Water and Weight Loss
One of the misunderstandings about water consumption is that if we drink less will have less water retention. Nothing could be further from the truth. Water retention is more likely to happen when we starve our bodies of water. Our bodies go onto red alert thinking there is going to be a draught and they hold on to what water they have.
Most children, from the time they enter kindergarten, have been told drink lots of water. As a matter of fact an adult should drink eight, eight ounce glasses of water every day. Do you know that water plays an important part in weight loss? But do you know that if you drank eight, eight ounces of water and did not change your eating habits you would probably lose weight. Not a lot but you would lose some.
Every diet that I have been on recommended that you drink eight, eight ounce glasses of water a day. Why? Because they know that the chances are good that if you do that their diet will work more efficiently and you will exoerience a more successful weight loss. Unfortunately, many of us start of with good intentions but run out of steam along the way and do not continue this good habit. If we all drank eight ounces of water each and every day instead of 8 cans of diet coke or other diet drink, there would be far fewer overweight people around.
So why is water so important to weight loss? We are always being told that it is but not many of us understand why we have to do it. After some research I will attempt to do that.
You see our kidneys need water to do their job of cleansing the impurities from our bodies. If our kidneys are not working properly or if they are water deprived they cannot do their job and the Liver has to pick up the slack. This takes the Liver away from its main purpose which is to turn fat into energy. So what happens when the liver cannot convert fat into energy it stores it for a rainy day. It gets stored in your hips, around your waist and other places of your body.
At first when you drink your eight glasses of water a day you may find yourself running to the bathroom and it seems like you are just pouring water in and it is coming right out again. Don’t give up at this point because your body is simply not used to you having all this water and is getting adjusted. Previously when the body was not getting enough water it started storing it in case of an emergency. Now that it is getting all the water it says I no longer need an emergency supply and will start releasing that stored water, from you hips , your stomach, your legs, arms and other places. Bingo you lose weight.
So drink lots of water for a successful weight loss program.

Weight Loss With Diet Pills
Weight gain and obesity have become serious health issues,so
consequently the
weight
loss industry has grown also.. Obesity has steadily
worsened as more fast food restaurants emerged and our diets
are increasingly becoming all about junk and fast foods. As
the obesity problem grows, more concepts for how to deal with
weight loss have emerged.
Many have turned to various forms of diet drugs to help with
weight loss. Several diet drugs over the last decade
have been associated with serious heart problems and other
health-related issues, and diet pills have even been linked to
a number of deaths. Weight loss, in the context of medicine or
health, is a reduction of the total body weight, which can
mean loss of fluid, muscle, bone mass, or fat.
Weight loss diet pills are not all created equally; therefore,
they have varying results. There are a lot of them that do not
work at all, but claim to have an excellent effect. Since most
over the counter diet medications are not regulated, you have
no way of knowing if what their advertisements say is true or
not.
Prescription diet drugs have been shown to cause serious side
effects in some people. While some side effects, such as dry
mouth and headache, are only slightly annoying, some can be
extremely hazardous to your health. Prescription weight loss
drugs are intended for individuals with medically significant
weight problems, and are intended to be used in conjunction
with dietary, behavioral, and exercise programs. If used
correctly by the intended group of users, oftentimes they can
be a lifesaver. If taken indiscriminately, they can cause
serious harm to your body and at times, even death.
Natural weight loss pills, when manufactured properly, should weight. Basically, if you can lose the weight more naturally, your physician will recommend you do so. If you cannot meet realistic goals in this way, diet pills may be discussed.
Usually, diet pills are not recommended unless you need to lose more than 10% of your current weight.
A lifestyle change and good eating habits plus moderate exercise is the healthiest way to lose weight. Diet pills should be your avenue of last resort due to the health complications that may follow their usage.

Do Fad Diets Really Work for Weight Loss?
Is this type of weight loss really possible? Yes - but... in almost every instance the weight loss from a fad diet is temporary and usually due to loss of water weight. Our bodies are made up of a large percentage of water so as soon as your body re-hydrates itself you will put that quick weight loss right back on.
What are some of the reasons a fad diet is not good for you?
1. A fad diet usually tells you to focus on a single food type and avoid all others. This means you miss out on the nutrition you really need and can get from a more balanced diet approach.
Quite often these fad diets will even tell you to take vitamins and supplements to make up for all the nutritional deficiencies you experience while on that fad diet. However, your body will not be able to absorb the nutrients from the recommended supplements unless you take them with food. And many of the foods that help you absorb nutrients are banned on fad diets.
2. Fad diets are usually so restrictive and unappetizing that after as little as one day you will begin having overwhelming cravings for other foods and most likely you will not be able to complete the fad diet. This quitting will also wreak havoc on your self esteem as you may beat yourself up for not having enough willpower to stick it out with the diet for weight loss.
3. Fad diets are temporary solutions for your weight loss problems. Even if you do follow through to the end with a fad diet you have not made permanent healthy changes to the way you handle food in your life. So fad dieters tend to be yo-yo dieters that go back and forth between extreme lo-calorie fad diets to periods of binging on food groups that were missing from the fad diet. So fad dieters are on a roller coaster of gaining and losing the same pounds again and again.
No matter what you see in the media about quick weight loss fad diets, realize that these diets will never work long term.
The best way to lose weight and sustain that weight loss (so you never have to diet again) is to eat a variety of healthy foods, avoid overeating, and do regular exercise. This simple formula works every time.

Teen Weight Loss
If you want to help your children with weight loss, some changes have to be made. More and more these days, we read and hear a lot about the need to lose weight. Now that obesity is being recognized as an increasing
problem, losing weight, especially in teens, has gained a lot more significance.
Overweight kids are the product of the "fast food" lifestyle that most
families has grown accustomed with. Daily consumption of hamburgers and fries along with other add-ons have made it easier for teens to gain more weight and at the same time get less of the essential nutrients that their growing body needs. An unhealthy trend is developing that needs to be addressed. It is usually up to the parents to take action.
So what is the quick and easy answer to help teenagers as well as adults with their weight loss problems? The simple combination of a sensible weight loss diet and exercise of course. Almost everyone is aware that following a healthy diet and regular exercise are keys to losing and maintaining a healthy weight.
No new research is required before you can look into the causes of
obesity in teenagers. More than just the fast food, it is also the
larger portion sizes, or increasing inactivity that are causing more
teens to become overweight.
There is not one single thing that can be easily changed to make fewer
people overweight. It is usually a combination of diet, exercise and
other things that is the successful answer to any weight issues. The
big concern is more on how to find the motivation to eat healthier and
exercise regularly. This is probably the most difficult part of a weight loss regime. But even if you have the proper motivation to start
eating healthier and exercising more often, trying to keep it up
becomes an even harder task.
In the case of teenagers, proper motivation may come from going to
school each day. An educational institution that practices and
preaches a healthy lifestyle would be extremely helpful in keeping the
weight of teenage and even younger kids in check. Schools can
institute major changes in order to provide kids with healthy meals
and regular exercise. Small steps such as banning soda and fruit
drinks can help a lot.
There are many ways that a school might help kids in general become
healthier and make weight loss easier. One is by providing real daily physical
education requirements that can help make kids more active physically,
a break from a sedentary lifestyle that they may be accustomed with at
home. A school can also help in an effective weight loss program for
kids by offering only healthy foods at school meals. Unhealthy foods
or snacks should not be offered as an option for kids who don't want
to eat healthy.
Having adequate fitness equipment available to all students can
greatly help in motivating kids to become more active. Such equipment
should be made available for everyone and not just for those students
who are participating in formal sports. Schools can also increase the
number of informal sports that kids can play.
This way, kids do not have to be a member of the varsity basketball
team in order to enjoy playing basketball at school. Of all of these
changes, the program to increase physical education requirements will
likely be the most useful in helping kids achieve a healthy weight loss. Such
programs can also help them avoid becoming overweight and further help
kids build good habits that might stay with them into adulthood.

Weight Loss with Weight Watchers
Today there are many weight loss programs out there, but probably one of the most popular, is Weight Watchers. This is a weight loss program that many people, especially women have tried. I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting, stood on the scales in front of everyone, way back in the 60's. I thought it was a great program, and it is still around today.
The Weight Watches program got it's start back in the 60's by some friends who started to get together each week to discuss their weight loss struggles and victories. Over time the groups grew and soon it became popular around the entire world. This weight loss program focuses on losing weight long term and it also focuses on keep the weight off as well. There are no harsh restrictions on what you can or can't eat, but it teaches people to learn how to make the healthy choices in what they eat, so they can lose weight, and then keep the weight off for the years to come. Of course exercise is also encouraged, although it is not the main focus of the entire program.
Weight Watchers really works well for people who need some support when they are losing weight. It is also great for those who want to eat just about anything that they want. There are not many limitations, which makes this a great diet plan for just about anyone today.
Weight Watchers comes with quite a list of pros and cons that you should be aware of. It is important that you are aware of these pros and cons before you get started in the plan. So, here are some of the pros and cons that you should know about first.
- Pro #1 - Great for Long Term Weight Loss Goals - First of all, one of the main pros is that you'll find Weight Watchers to be a great program for long term weight loss goals. It is actually a diet that you can stick to, so you'll be able to reach your goals.
- Pro #2 - Plenty of Support to Help - You'll also find that you get plenty of support with this weight loss diet as well. There are weekly meetings that you go to where you get support and education that will help you as you work on losing weight.
- Pro #3 - You Have Variety in Food Choices - While there are so many diets out
there that really limitt the foods that you can eat, you'll find that with Weight Watchers you can eat just about anything. There is great variety in food choice, so you'll be less likely to get bored or tired of the diet and quit.
Pro #4 - The Points Make it Easy - You'll also find that the great point system that is used with this diet really makes it easy to keep track of what you are eating. Most people even find that it is a lot easier than having to keep track of calories. I personally hated carrying that little point book.
Con #1 - You Can't Really Count Points Forever - However, on the con side, you'll probably find that you can't go on counting points for the rest of your life. This is only temporary for you, and you'll have to survive eventually on your weight loss regime without looking up the points in your little manual.
Con #2 - You Have to Go to Meetings - While the meetings can be great for some, other people find that going to the meetings is actually a problem for them. They have to fit in these meetings into their busy schedule. Also, people who really are very sensitive about their weight may find this embarrassing as well. I hated standing on that scale in front of everyone. Maybe I cheated that week.
Con #3 - It Can Be Expensive - Probably one of the main cons to this diet is that it can be really expensive. It costs about $10-15 for each class and you also have to pay to join as well. So, over time this can really cost you quite a bit of money to get involved in it. I know this was one of the reasons I quit Weight Watchers. I couldn't justify paying $10.00 to go stand on a scale in front of all my friends. I also found their cookbooks at a garage sale. I needed the recipes, not the emotional support of my girlfriends. I know some people do need the emotional support and are willing to pay $10.00 a week to get it.

Weight Loss
If you are overweight it is easy to fall into the trap of looking for excuses and reasons why you are overweight when very likely the main reason is that you eat more calories than you use. There is a simple answer for most people. Just eat more of the right foods and less of the rubbish. This way you should find weight loss relatively easy.
However there is a group of people who despite their best efforts seem unable to shift those pounds and they don't reallu understand why. One thing we don't hear much about is how much your thyroid has to do with weight gain and weight loss. Proper thyroid gland function regulates body metabolism, blood calcium levels, energy, excess fats, hormones, oxygen, weight loss.
Under active thyroid gland symptoms include appetite loss, chronic fatigue, constipation, depression, dry skin, hair loss, infections, cold sensitivity, low body temperature, muscle weakness, overweight, painful premenstrual periods, slow growth or speech, tiredness, and weight gain.
For proper growth and development, the storage and distribution of water and salt, the thyroid needs the right nutrients to function. Iodine and all the amino acids are necessary for the body to complete this natural cycle of synthesis as well as oxygen, hydrogen and other elements. The complete process will not occur unless the body has every component.
As the blood circulates through the thyroid gland every 17 minutes, germs are rendered weaker and eventually killed in the blood if there are sufficient reserves of iodine. If the iodine intake is low, the thyroid gland is deprived and becomes less efficient.
Second function of iodine is to calm the body and relieve nervous tension. When tension from stress runs high, there is irritability and difficulty in sleeping. Iodine will lessen nervous tension, relax the body, and enable it to reorganize, if the body has enough stored in reserve or replenished with all the other nutrients.
Third function of iodine in the human body relates to clear thinking. The mind works better when the body is supplied with iodine. The thyroid gland needs iodine to metabolize the stored excess natural fats in the body. It acts as the catalyst that touches off the fire from within, burning up the foods we consume. If this food is not properly burned off, it may be stored as unwanted fats.
The animals we consume are continually being fed antibiotics, synthetic hormones, steroids, drugs, toxic chemicals, and then radiated. When we eat it, we get the leftover toxic residues in our muscles, tissue and cells. These proven carcinogenic substances cause cancer and depress our immune system. The ever-increasing incidence of immune system diseases has increased dramatically. This creates stress and pressure of everyday life, financial problems, family problems, crime, etc. Removing the good fats from foods and replacing it with low calorie fake fats are causing serious problems of being over weight as well as finding weight loss very difficult.
Major cause of heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers have been attributed to being over weight. Most everyone is lacking in energy today; the body burns good natural fat and turns it into energy. Good fats are digested (broken down) and used to produce bile for digestion; they are used by the lymphatic system and the thyroid gland. You wonder why so many women get breast cancer today. Maybe its because their gallbladder, liver, lymphatic system, thyroid, and everything else is so plugged up with fake fats (hydrogenated oils) that they just quit working altogether. The human body was not made to digest or make use of anything unnatural. If you believe the unnatural junk is better, you will most definitely wind up with multiple symptom caboodle syndrome and die before your time.
So if you are having trouble with weight loss, even though you've made changes to your diet and lifestyle, a sluggish thyroid could be part of the problem.

Weight Loss and Calcium, What's the Connection?
Obesity has become a world wide epidemic, and researchers are constantly looking for new reasons why people may either be overweight or find weight loss difficult. They have no discovered that people who are overweight generally have a smaller amount of calcium in their diet than people of a healthy weight.
Apparently People on diets who eat the recommended daily amount or more of calcium tend to lose a lot more weight than those who eat smaller amounts. The weight loss also tends to be from specific parts of the body - mainly the stomach and waist area which is, interestingly, from where a large number of dieters want to lose it.
While this research is certainly interesting, it is true to say that no one really knows how or why calcium and weight loss are linked. It does appear to be the case that there is indeed a connection. It seems that obese people are not getting the required amount of calcium that their bodies need and this will inevitably inhibit weight loss
Just what is going on here? Well, it is a known fact that when you don't eat enough, your body tries to compensate by saving and storing as much fat as possible. It seems that it does the same if your intake of calcium is low, irrespective of how much, or indeed how little, other stuff you're eating.
It is thought that if you don't ingest enough calcium it causes changes in the body's fat-storing profile and hormonal changes too, all of which leads to an increase in weight.
Only when you start to restore the body's calcium balance does your body start to reverse the fat storage allowing weight loss to take place.
So ok, now you know that if you want to lose weight you must at least take on board the recommended daily amount of calcium. But that's only part of the story. If your body doesn't absorb the calcium properly, it won't matter how much of it you ingest.
So, how can you help your body to absorb the calcium you feed it? Well, a properly-balanced vitamin intake is necessary. And the very best vitamin for aiding calcium absorption is vitamin D.
There is one type of calcium supplement that is absorbed by the body more readily than others and
that is coral calcium. An added benefit of coral calcium is that it contains 73 trace elements and minerals that are important to your body. The calcium to avoid is any inorganic calcium that the body struggles to absorb. Inorganic calcium is very much cheaper and therefore popular with some of the downmarket vitamin companies.
There clearly does appear to be a link between calcium intake and weight loss. If you prefer to take your calcium in supplemental form, there appears to be possible benefits to choosing coral calcium.

Green Tea Weight Loss
If you are serious about green tea weight loss, even though you should not expect the pounds to melt off as some will claim, we can still definitely recommend green tea as a complement to a sound nutrition and exercise regime. Green tea not only for the slight metabolism boost it will give you, but more importantly, for the many other documented health benefits.
Research by Japanese and other researchers suggest that if the average person were to drink five cups of green tea a day, they would burn an extra 70 to 80 extra calories through an effect known as thermogenesis, which is the process of heat production in organisms. While much of the thermogenesis effect in green tea is derived from caffeine, some scientific studies also suggest that thermogenesis in green tea occurs to some degree beyond its caffeine content from epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG.) I know that green tea will slow my appetite cravings, and all this time it was possibly just the caffeine.
Regardless, 70-80 calories per day does not quite come close to the 500 calorie deficit needed per day to lose a pound a week, and for sure it's nowhere close to the calorie deficit needed to lose "inches per week" from one's waistline as some green tea web sites would have consumers believe. You will need far more of a calorie deficit if you want faster weight loss.
According to the research, if a person were to change nothing outside of adding five cups of green tea to their diet per day, then over the course of 43 days one could expect to lose 1 pound. Over the period of one year, one could expect a weight loss of about 8 pounds. Yes, there is some correlation between green tea and weight loss, unfortunately it's not on the level many would have you believe.
Clearly, drinking green tea alone is not going to be satisfactory for significant green tea weight loss. Still, green tea can still be quite useful as a weight loss aide. The extra 80 calories per day can be just what a person needs to tip the scale from a calorie surplus to a calorie deficit, especially when following a balanced nutrition and exercise regime.
I guess all this points to the fact that if you can replace a soda with green tea or your afternoon snack time can be a cup of green tea, it can be a nice replacement for those unwanted calories, and over a period of time you will see a some green tea weight loss. Don't forget, it
does have a slight benefit for increasing metabolism rates.

Quick Weight Loss
The cabbage soup diet is one of the most well known of the fad diets for quick weight loss.
Since I have been dieting for almost 40 years, it is a diet that I have used many times to achieve quick weight loss right before a special event and find I need to fit into that special outfit. If you ever find yourself desperately trying to fit into your special dress, especially right after it has been announced to you that you have won an award, your husband's boss is coming to dinner next month, or any myriad of circumstances where you need to look top notch, this may be your answer.
Many people have tried it over the years, but just remember that it is fad, and weight loss is rarely permanent with quick weight loss fad diets. Also remember, they can have a bad effect on your health, so keep the use of this diet to a minimum. I have found it is best to only do this diet rarely, and for short periods of time, but it is a life-saver for quick weight loss. I have found it is best to give yourself about 4 weeks to achieve your weight loss, in case you have a problem tolerating the diet.
This diet is intended to be used for a seven day period following the instructions, ingredients and proportions exactly. If after one week, you still feel that you must lose additional weight, wait two weeks eating normally, then repeat the Cabbage Soup Diet for one more week. The Cabbage Soup Diet doesn't provide you with all the nutrients needed for a permanent way of eating, but it's a great diet to get you started on your weight loss program.
The Cabbage Soup consists of 6 green onions; 2 green peppers; 1-2 cans tomatoes; 3 carrots, 10-oz mushrooms; one bunch of celery; half head of cabbage, a package of dry soup mix; 2 bouillon cubes; 48 oz of V-8 juice and seasoning to taste. The ingredients are brought to a boil and simmered for two hours. The amount of soup desired can be heated and eaten as required. You may eat as much of the soup as you like during the entire duration of the seven days. The kicker is that you can only eat the soup, plus the fruits listed below. This does make breakfast a bit unusual.
The daily plan in addition to bottomless soup is as follows: Day One: - all the fresh fruit desired except bananas; Day Two - unlimited raw or cooked vegetables and one baked potato with butter if you wish; Day Three - Unlimited fruits except bananas and unlimited vegetables but no potato; Day Four - Up to eight bananas and as much skim milk as you want; Day Five -- Six tomatoes and up to 20 ounces of beef, skinless chicken or broiled fish; Day Six -- Unlimited vegetables and up to 20 ounces of beef or skinless chicken. Broiled fish can be substituted for beef on one of the days only; Day Seven - unlimited quantities of brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and vegetables
Again, this is not a diet for extended periods. If you experience symptoms such as nausea, lightheadedness and weakness, discontinue the regimen. You should visit a health care professional if the side effects continue once you've returned to 'normal' eating. Most people tolerate the bloated gassy feeling because they know it's only for seven days. You can do anything for only 7 days, right? Nausea and light-headedness are symptoms a bit more serious than gas. If you experience these the nausea and light-headedness, quickly discontinue this diet.
It would be wise to remember that quick weight loss does not necessarily equal safe and healthy weight loss.

Fast Weight Loss
For those who are overweight fast weight loss would be the answer to their dreams. But surely permanent weight loss is actually a better option, especially in the long run. Many people end up being yoyo dieters as a result of fast weight loss diets, as if you lose weight too quickly you are inevitably losing water and muscle as well as losing fat. As soon as you start eating normally, this weight will pile back on very quickly.
Most people who are overweight and wanting fast weight loss are really only concerned with the weight they see when they stand on the bathroom scales. There is a misconception that this measurement is the one that tells whether your diet is successful or not. This couldn't be further from the truth. Fast weight loss will inevitably be a combination of fat loss, water loss and muscle loss. This is not necessarily what we want to see.
In real health terms we should be concerned about both the amount of fat tissue and the amount of lean muscle tissue. The body fat percentage is actually more important than your weight. Having more fat than lean tissue increases your health risk. Ideally no more than 15% of a man's body and 22 % of a woman's body should be fat.
Most fast weight loss diets as with most other diets will show a sudden weight loss in the first week. With the fast weight loss diet the dieter will begin to plateau after the 2nd or 3rd week. Energy will start to wane because of the dietary regime they have been following.. As a result the dieter will start to eat a little more and some of the weight lost will be gained
The diet that has a slower approach may see a sudden weight loss in the first week - which will be mainly water, but then a steady 1lb or 1.5 lb a week from then on. At the end of a 12 week period the fast weight loss dieter will have lost maybe 2 -3 lb whereas the other dieter will have lost nearer to 13lb and will have experienced more sustained energy levels.
It is also likely that the fast weight loss dieter will have lost some lean muscle which will ultimately be detrimental to their health
Whether you want to experience fast weight loss or slower more sustained weight loss, the key to weight control is to keep your blood sugar levels even. Excess glucose turns into fat. A lack of glucose leaves you feeling lethargic.
Your glucose balance is influenced by many factors, including:-
Your sugar and carbohydrate intake
Your stress and stimulant load
Food combining
The quality and type of fat you eat
The fiber in your food
Vitamins and Minerals
Hormone imbalances Exercise
So you can see that weight loss is a complex issue and fast weight loss should be viewed cautiously if you are to achieve the desired long term results that will benefit your overall health

Weight Loss Tips
Have you ever heard the saying "Dieting makes you Fat"? I read recently about someone who had lost 200lb over several years. If they had kept it all off they would now weigh minus 20lb! How ludicrous is that??
Unfortunately it is true, weight loss does make you fat if you don't do it correctly. Your diet may have resulted in a weight loss of 10 to 15 lbs in the first few weeks most of which will be water. Once you end your diet your food cravings prompt you to eat and maybe even to overeat. Unfortunately during your weight loss regime your Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR) will have decreased. The result is that you regain all the weight you lost and some more. By the time your BMR catches up you are already overweight again.
You will now probably try to lose weight yet again. You will be successful initially but then you will hit a plateau. You become discouraged and start eating again and so the cycle continues. Each time you gain a little bit more than the time before. The only people who will be successful with their weight loss program are those who have a holistic approach. It is very important to watch carefully what you eat, stick with the regime and take regular exercise. This is the only way to keep weight off permanently. Crash diets don't work. They may be a quick fix for a short term goal but they have no lasting effect.
People who need lose weight will often say "oh if only I could take a magic pill to help me to lose weight". The crazy thing they don't realise is that "food" will actually do that for them. Food increases our metabolism and so helps us to lose weight. Eating less food will only serve to lower your BMR and therefore slow down the weight loss rate.
To really increase our BMR we need to eat foods that will increase thermogenisis and have a stimulatory or energizing effect on the body. Protein has a particularly good thermogenic effect, but this is only true if you don't overeat. Overeating puts a tremendous strain on the digestive system which can drain your energy and make you feel tired.
Another food that can rev up your BMR even more than protein is coconut oil. Coconut oil is a medium chain fatty acid (MCFA). MCFAs shift the body's metabolism into a higher gear so to speak so that you burn more calories. Because MCFAs increase the metabolic rate, coconut oil can actually promote weight loss. A dietary fat that improves weight loss rather than causing you to gain weight is a strange concept for us to understand. MCFAs also encourage the burning of the long chain fatty acids as well so having a doubly positive effect on weight loss

Weight Loss
Obesity is constantly in the news, reminding us that it is fast becoming a world wide epidemic. The message encouraging people to lose weight has resulted in everybody looking for the latest fad diet. It is not surprising therefore that the "amazing weight loss in 7 days" diets are top of the hit parade
So what is the best way to lose weight? How can you lose weight fast? What are the latest diet tips? The fact is, there are no easy answers or magic weight loss secrets that can help you drop the pounds. As most diet experts will tell you, whatever diet you choose, there is going to be some deprivation, some sweat, and some plain old hard work if you want to achieve weight loss success. Popular opinion is that slimming diets are NOT the answer for permanent weight loss! You need a sensible well balanced diet that is for life not just for the duration of your weight loss regime.
There is an abundance of information on changing your eating habits. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day, try eating 5 smaller meals. If you eat in a restaurant, ask for a carry out container and save half your meal for the next day's lunch.
Here's a few weight loss tips to make life a little easier and give you an edge in the never ending battle:
About 30 minutes before having your meal eat an apple, raw vegetables or a salad with reduced fat dressing. Doing so will curb your appetite and give your diet a fiber boost. Remember, fiber is your best friend in this weight loss battle.
Keep your blood sugar (and your appetite) at an even keel all day long by not going any longer than 3 hours without having something to eat. Keep celery sticks, carrots, bell pepper strips close at hand for munchies. The crispy crunch helps weight loss by giving you a psychological boost.
Eat several, healthy mini meals throughout the day rather than a few large ones. This does not mean a candy bar! We are talking fruits and veggies here, or maybe a protein snack to give your metabolism a boost.
If you think you are over eating for emotional reasons try to resolve those emotional issues. The Emotional Freedom Technique is an excellent tool for removing emotional blocks
Exercise! When you feel a binge coming on, exercise is a great way to elevate your mood and get your mind off food. It also relieves stress. Weight loss is never easy, so improve your emotional wellbeing with plenty of exercise.
Weight loss is a battle we wage everyday, and a good portion of it is done by just implementing a few little tricks.

Water and Weight Loss ()
Water is an essential component of your weight loss program and for your body to metabolize stored fat into energy. Your body's metabolism can be slowed by relatively mild levels of dehydration and the slower your metabolism, the slower your weight loss (and the greater your fatigue), until eventually your weight loss just crawls to a halt.
Water is a natural appetite suppressant. In the hypothalamus, a region in your brain that controls appetites and cravings, the control centers for hunger and thirst are located next to each other, and there tends to be some overlap. This has both advantages and disadvantages for the dieter: on the down side, it means that chronic mild dehydration can confuse these control mechanisms, leading to feelings of hunger, rather than thirst. But on a positive note, it means you can use water to reduce your appetite.
Water is an essential component of the processes that enable muscle to contract. This means that water helps to maintain muscle tone. Better muscle tone means a better looking body, and isn't that what dieting and weight loss is about?
Water also helps to prevent the sagging skin that often follows weight loss - water plumps the skin cells, giving the skin a younger and healthier look.
Water helps rid the body of waste. During weight loss, the body has a lot more waste to get rid of, as a by-product of all that metabolized fat. So adequate water is essential to your health while dieting.
Water can even help with constipation. When the body gets too little water, it siphons what it needs from within, particularly from the colon. This leads to constipation. But normal bowel function usually returns with adequate water intake.
More generally, mild dehydration can cause a number of health problems:
- Headaches & feeling light headed, as dehydration interferes with normal body processes, including waste disposal.
- Fatigue, as the body's metabolism is slowed - mild dehydration is probably the most common cause of daytime fatigue.
- Hunger & cravings due to weakening of the thirst mechanism.
- Fluid retention.
- Constipation
Not a pretty picture, is it? But once you've reached the breakthrough point, fluid retention eases, the liver and endocrine system start to function more effectively, you will start to regain your natural thirst and your hunger cravings will be significantly reduced. And so the end result of reaching and sustaining the breakthrough point in your water balance is that your body is able to metabolize fat more effectively. The end result is more control of your weight loss program.

Weight Loss Programs
There are so many weight loss programs available today that it is very difficult to ascertain which one will be best for you. In 2005, Michael Dansinger MD from Tufts University conducted a trial that compared the effectiveness of 4 popular weight loss programs:- Atkins, Zone, Weight Watchers, and Ornish.
160 participants aged between 22 years and 72 years with a mean BMI of 35 were randomly assigned to one of the 4 weight loss programs. The Atkins Diet was carbohydrate restricted, the Zone was macro nutrient balanced, the weight watchers diet was calorie restricted and the Ornish was fat restricted. The participants followed a supervised program for 2 months and then were left to follow the diet on their own. Unfortunately 22% left the study after 2 months.
Each group had a modest increase of exercise throughout the trial.
The overall results showed that all 4 weight loss programs had a measure of success depending on the level of adherence. The trial concluded that there was evidence to suggest that there was not one diet to suit all types. By the end of the trial more people had dropped out of the Ornish and the Atkins suggesting that many people found these weight loss programs too extreme and therefore more difficult to stick to. Perhaps if the participants had been able to choose which program to follow the results may have been better.
The fact that one diet doesn't suit all is a vital piece in the weight loss puzzle. We all have different metabolic rates and different ways of processing our food. If we know what these differences are then we can choose a weight loss program that can be closely matched to our specific needs.
However the bottom line would seem to be adherence to the program for more than just a few weeks. Any weight loss program will only be successful if the participant follows it properly 98% of the time. We all have our 2% lapses but the answer is to get back on the diet as soon as possible. It is also essential to realise that permanent changes need to be made if the weight loss program results are to be maintained

Weight Loss Tips
In the battle to lose weight, we can all use all the weight loss tips we can find. I want to leave you with a few weight loss tips that address stress. We all have to deal with all types of stress, but these weight loss tips will help you handle some of that stress.
Life has a way of getting the best of us some days. Whether it's working too many hours, shuffling your kids all over town for their activities, taking care of your household, or dealing with personal or family matters, stress can take its toll on you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. But here are some simple weight loss tips you can utilize to combat stress, starting with the foods you eat.
Avoiding caffeine and alcohol is a good start when life's particularly stressful. Stimulants and depressants like these can both zap your energy and rob you of the fuel you need to successfully cope with tension. Sugary foods should also be avoided as well, as they cause your blood sugar levels to spike then dip rapidly, which can in turn make your energy levels spike and dip at the same rate.
However, there are several superfoods out there that provide you with the energy and nutrition your body needs to keep stress in check
Asparagus, which is high in folic acid, can help level out your moods. Folic acid and vitamin B are key players in producing serotonin, a chemical that gets you into a good mood. This is a major weight loss tip as we all need as much serotonin we can get.
And though we may hear negative things regarding red meat, it's actually a wise dinner option for a stressed-out family. Beef's high levels of iron, zinc and B vitamins not only help get you into a good mood, but help you stay there as well. Your local butcher can help you select lean cuts for the healthiest options.
Milk really does a body good. Chock full of calcium, protein, antioxidants, and vitamins B2 and B12, it helps strengthen bones and promotes healthy cell regeneration. Paired with a healthy whole-grain cereal choice in the morning, low-fat milk is a great way to start your day and arm yourself to do battle with the stressors that await you. Cottage cheese is also another great dairy choice, and when coupled with a fruit that's high in vitamin C, it helps the body battle free radicals that run rampant during your most stressed periods.
Almonds are also an awesome choice when it comes to arming yourself against stress. They're high in magnesium, zinc, as well as vitamins B2, C, and E and unsaturated fats, all which are great warriors against free radicals, which have been shown to cause cancers and heart disease.
These weight loss tips, if utilized, will help immensely in dealing with life stress as well as the stress we encounter in our battle to lose weight. It may help you hang in there one more day if we can get the stress related to weight loss under control.

Stop eating sugar to help your weight loss. Weigh yourself everyday. It has been shown that people who weigh themselves everyday enjoy more weight loss than people who don't.

Natural Weight Loss
You have looked in the mirror and made the decision it is now time to get serious about that 20-30-40 lbs you have been avoiding dealing with for years. Maybe it is not looking in the mirror that got you to this point. For me, who always avoided the mirror, it was a life crisis. I had a heart attack. After a long heart to heart talk with my cardiologist, no pun intended, I decided it was time to start the weight loss war. As a person who grew up in the South and who was fed meat, gravy and potatoes for most of my life, I was completely clueless to what this natural weight loss journey was going to entail. I will share a few of the basic principles I have discovered in the last fifteen years since the decision was made.
First of all, natural weight loss is not that big of a deal. It's a scientific principle. Expend more calories than you consume. There, pretty simple huh? At this point, you have my permission to call me many ugly names. I am being a smart aleck, but it really does come down to a few basic things you need to change in your life. Eat right and move that body.
This sounds easy to follow, but still many continue to struggle in the battle of weight loss..
This is also why people are finding ways to get help with their overweight and obesity with different weight loss and diet programs today. And there are many diet and natural weight loss programs that will help you lose weight . But at the same time you should be aware of, and also avoid so called fad or "starvation" diets.
Fad or Starvation diets usually tell you to skip meals or starve yourself in order to lose weight. This is probably the worst way to lose weight and will probably just make you give up in your battle and you will lose the weight loss war.
Skipping meals is not a healthy habit, and it can even cause some serious complications or health problems for you.
When you skip meals you will also cause hypoglycemia, your blood sugar gets really low, and will usually just results in making you eat twice as much at the next meal. It also gets harder for you to control your eating habits and weight.
This is also why you should avoid so called "starvation" and "fad" diets.
Instead you should focus on finding diets or natural weight loss programs that provides you with a healthy eating plan, preferable 4 meals per day or more, and some healthy fruit or veggie snacks between the meals if you would get hungry.
This way you will help your body boost it's fat burning metabolism, which has been proven to be the best way to lose weight . It is also the best way to keep your goal weight in the long run.
Another good thing with losing weight is that it's never too late to lose some extra pounds.
Though it is a whole lot easier to prevent putting on pounds than to try losing them later on, there are always ways to help you lose your extra pounds.
A recommendation is to change your eating habits and lifestyle. This way you will see results in your weight loss, and it will become a lifestyle.
What can I eat?
A reasonable approach for losing weight is to stick to a diet that is high in complex carbohydrates, high in fiber, moderate in protein, and low in fat.
For example complex carbohydrates can be found in potatoes and baked potatoes, proteins can be found in lean cuts of meat and fiber can be found in vegetables.
This also makes a great and healthy weight loss meal.
This is also why you can eat perfectly ordinary and healthy food while losing weight, as long as you don't overeat it or add to many fats to it.
For example avoid the cream in the baked potato, the fat gravy to the meat and the oil you are frying the food in. These are the ingredients that can make you fat.
So continue to eat healthy and ordinary food while losing weight, preferable 4-5 smaller meals or more per day to speed up your body's fat burning metabolism, and stop starving yourself! Don't forget that walk after eating. The movement will speed up metabolism a bit and help with digestion. Natural weight loss is about lifestyle change. Be good to yourself and make a few moderations in your diet and activity levels.

Successful Weight Loss
It was a heart attack that got my attention about fifteen years ago and started me on my battle of weight loss. Over these years I have learned many things that might help if you find yourself waging this war. I call it a war as that is how I see it, and each step is a different battle. These battles can be won with a few minor changes in our lifestyle and understanding of what we are doing.
Excess weight and obesity have been associated with an increased risk for numerous medical conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure,
stroke, diabetes, osteoarthritis, some types of cancers, sleep apnea, and elevated blood cholesterol levels.
It should be noted that weight loss for those who are overweight can make a major impact on the conditions listed above. Many overweight people also report improved mood, increased in self-esteem and motivation, and feeling healthier in general after they have lost weight.
The desire for weight loss must come from the individual. If you're truly ambivalent about making changes in your lifestyle or are doing this to please someone else, you're likely to fail. When making changes, decide what's right for your lifestyle. Your best friend's diet and exercise plan may be completely wrong for your habits and interests. The key is to find a program that works for you.
Don't blame yourself if you fall down. If you once fail at your attempt to curtail your overeating, it doesn't mean you are a failure at weight loss and that you should just give up. Accept that you made a poor choice, but don't let that poor choice influence the rest of your plan. The same holds true with exercise. Skipping a few workouts doesn't mean you can't get back on track. Weight loss does not involve making perfect choices all the time, rather, it's about attempting to make good choices more often than poor ones. You are only human, and you will fall every once in a while.
Avoid surroundings where you know you're tempted to make poor food choices. Everyone has a time when we're most likely to overeat, whether it's the morning coffee break or after-work gathering with friends. Try to plan other activities or distractions for those times, or plan in advance how you're going to handle them and stick to it.
Surround yourself with people who support your efforts. Even our good friends can knowingly or unknowingly sabotage weight loss attempts. Spend time with those people who will not pressure you to make poor food choices.
Decide on some nonfood rewards for yourself when you reach interim goals. For examples, at the end of the first week of healthy eating or after the first 5 pounds lost, buy yourself a new CD or book. Weight loss can be fun. Be good to yourself.
Stock your pantry and refrigerator with healthy foods. Get rid of the high-calorie, low-nutrition snacks like chips and candy. But don't forget to have plenty of healthier options available as well, such as popcorn (hold the butter, try Parmesan cheese sprinkles), low-fat cheese and yogurt, fruit, instant cocoa without added sugar, sugar-free popsicles or puddings, or whatever appeals to you when you're hungry for a snack.
Set small goals and focus on these rather than the "big picture." Decide where you want to be in a week or in a month, rather than focusing on the total amount of weight you'd like to lose. We tend to have a poor self image of ourselves, and having successes in a small goal is attainable. We need these success to keep us motivated for further weight loss.

Weight Loss Mistakes
Weight loss mistakes are the main reason why so many overweight people end up trying time and time again to lose weight.
In the never ending war of weight loss, we make mental pictures to ourselves of what we want to accomplish and strike out to achieve this mental picture. It is also called goal setting. We can be much more goal oriented if we make these goals reasonable and attainable. Being human, we usually are pretty tough on ourselves if we fail to achieve these goals, and where does it say we must achieve every goal in a set time frame? Weight loss is a journey. I want to look at a few of the misconceptions and mistakes we make while on this journey.
Perhaps the single largest mistake that we make in the weight loss war is adopting an all or nothing attitude. These are the dieters that scour the pantry and the refrigerator removing anything that could be seen as a potential source of temptation. They embark on a dietary regimen that is nearly impossible to maintain and believe that all is lost the moment they stray from the strict guidelines of their diet.
While this may work for some in the short term, it sets them up for failure, frustration, and ill will towards the entire weight loss process. The important thing when it comes to weight loss is the goal. Your goal is to shed pounds. There are many ways in which this can be done that do not require starving yourself or punishing yourself in the process. Be good to yourself. We didn't acquire these pounds in a month or two, and we won't reasonably lose them in a month or two. Reasonably is the key word here.
Another great mistake when it comes to weight loss is selecting a diet plan where you eat the same thing every day. Despite our human need for structure and routine we tend to enjoy changing our lunch routine on occasion. Select a diet or new nutrition plan that allows you to enjoy a wide variety of foods rather than one that limits you to the same meal or meal selection day in and day out. Make this life style change as pleasant as possible.
Other common mistakes include depriving yourself of everything you enjoy. One thing that we often forget is the importance of moderation. Fill up on servings of fruits and vegetables, but allow yourself to enjoy the occasional indulgence for the sake of sanity. If you never allow yourself to enjoy a taste of chocolate, why on earth would you want to live forever? Seriously, do not forget to enjoy food for the sake of dieting. There is nothing wrong or sinful about enjoying food. The problem lies when you enjoy only the wrong sorts of foods and way too much of them.
You should also avoid the mistake of not setting weight loss goals. While you do not want to set goals that are impossible to achieve you should also avoid the opposite end of the spectrum, which involves having no goals at all. Those who set aggressive goals that are achievable will see the greatest degree of success. Making those goals public and asking for support is another thing that will help you achieve greater success. This is one reason the Weight Watchers program has enjoyed the phenomenal success is has.
The final mistake when it comes to weight loss, that is made all too often, is giving up. We all have setbacks along the way. Even those who have achieved monumental dieting success have met with failure on the road. The end result however, for those who stick with the plan is a healthier body and that is something that is worth fighting for. Your goals may get side tracked but you can set new goals. You may have had a bad day or even a bad week when it comes to your dietary goals and plans. Do not let this defeat your desires to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Let your failures teach you as much as your successes and you should be well on your way to the healthier person that you know is hiding inside. Whether you want to get rid of 10 pounds or 210 pounds, the only way to achieve that goal and make it last, is by dedicating yourself to the process of becoming a healthier person. A healthy person has healthy eating habits and doesn't starve him or herself. Learn to enjoy food in moderation and you should be well on your way to winning another battle in the weight loss war, and to the success you seek. Remember, life is too short to be miserable. You can win your weight loss battle.

Water and Weight Loss
There are many ideas on what creates an effective weight loss diet. Water can feature strongly in most dietary regimes, however the approach to water and weight loss diets isn't always very sensible
A water and weight loss can mean a great number of things. Some people follow water and weight loss diets that are actually weight loss fasts; they drink water, maybe with a few additional spices or splashes of juice added to the water, and skip food entirely. Some water diets combine large amounts of water with a certain food, like tuna and water diets. The idea behind the diets is all the same, though. Water diets drastically cut your calories for rapid weight loss. Whether or not you're losing actual pounds or just losing water weight is open to debate, but there is no denying a water diet can help you trim down quickly before a big event. Some water diets also claim to detox your system to optimize your weight loss potential.
Fasting on water for weight loss is the most common kind of water diet. Most water and weight loss diets want you to add something to your water, which the diets claim will increase your weight loss. For instance, supposedly, water with lemon for weight loss is the ideal combination. Some detox water diets, like the detox water and fruit diets are also popular; on these diets, you will either eat a certain kind of fruit with your water, or you will add fruit juice to your water.
Everyone agrees that water helps people to lose weight; however, existing entirely on a diet of water may only lead to water weight loss which may ultimately help you to look slimmer, but this will be short lived. As soon as you start eating normally again you will inevitably put the weight back on.
Water diets may help you to drop some quick pounds for a special event but they are unlikely to offer you a solution for sustainable weight loss.
The best solution all round is to embark on a sensible weight loss regime and drink plenty of water whilst on the regime.

Here are 6 Weight Loss Tips
Weight loss is such a hot topic these days that it is important to keep up with the latest thinking. New and innovative approaches are springing up all the time, but there are always several basic rules that you need to keep to for your weight loss program to be successful.
The most basic approach to weight loss is to burn more calories than you take in, but sometimes no matter what you do it just doesn’t seem to be working. When you need an ace up your sleeve for a critical moment, try one of these tips to jump-start your weight loss.
Add weights to your weight loss routine...
You may be surprised to know that adding weight-lifting to your routine is one of the fastest ways to see results. Your body will respond almost immediately, shaping and toning muscle, and remember, the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn! To determine the weight you should start with, take a 5-lb. dumbbell and do as many bicep curls as possible. Move up as your muscles build strength.
Increase the intensity
It is advisable, during your cardio workout routine, to assess the intensity level to determine how hard you’re working. If you can carry on a conversation with ease while exercising, it’s time to boost the intensity. You can do that by taking deeper strides as you move and placing a greater demand on the muscles of the thighs and buttocks, which in turns burns more calories.
Shake up your weight loss routine.
Despite being called a routine, your exercise program should keep you interested. Add different activities for variety and you not only maintain your concentration, but also constantly challenge your body to meet new obstacles and developing more than just a few muscles. More muscles equal a greater calorie burn – what’s not to love...
Give your diet a makeover.
Most people will be aware that before starting any weight loss plan, they should always consult a physician first. Make sure you are embarking on a well proven diet that works on scientific fat burning principles.
Challenge yourself.
It is also a good idea to set personal goals for yourself and don’t forget to reward your accomplishment! If your goal is to be more active at work, buy a pedometer and challenge yourself to take 6,000 steps during your workday. Be creative about it: walk to a colleague’s desk rather than email, take the stairs instead of the elevator, and go to the bathroom three floors down instead of the one on your floor. Challenging yourself can be very fulfilling on a personal level when you achieve your weight loss goals, and can encourage you on to greater achievement.
Keep a food journal.
It has been proved that one of the most common characteristics of successful dieters is keeping a daily journal of food intake. There’s no real mystery about this: when you must write down everything that goes in your mouth, it forces you to realize exactly what you consume are consuming. Keeping a journal is also beneficial because you can pick up patterns in your eating – for instance, if you become ravenous at a certain time everyday or if your meals and snacks are too far apart. It can also be helpful to note your frame of mind when you eat or mention the circumstances. Binging as soon as you get home at work could indicate a stressful job or it could mean it’s just been too long since lunch.
Any or all of the above tips will help you in your attempt to lose weight. The more you can do the more successful you will be with your weight loss
Yours in Success

Can Stress Levels Affect Weight Loss?
Do you take the weight of the world on your shoulders for your loved ones? Do you hold down a full time job, look after the family and all the household chores? You maybe a victim of chronic stress. The chances are if you have belly fat you are a victim of stress and this can seriously affect your weight loss.
Research has shown that constant chronic stress triggers a hormone called cortisol in your body. Cortisol is often referred to as the stress hormone because your adrenal glands start pumping it out when you're under stress. On a good day cortisol helps to regulate blood pressure, cardiovascular function and metabolism. But when stress levels rise and then stay there, your body is flooded with cortisol constantly. As a result your immune system suffers, your blood pressure rises and your belly gets fatter and fatter.
The main reason for this is that cortisol stimulates your appetite and signals your body to start storing fat. This fat is stores in your belly as your belly loves cortisol. So basically no weight loss plan is likely to work if you don't reduce your stress and cortisol levels first.
So what are the signs of a stressful life? Well a good example is chronic back pain or neck pain. Another symptom is often digestive problems.
The good news is that stress induced belly fat is not that difficult to lose. Get rid of just a little bit of your stress and weight loss will start to happen very quickly. Stress fighting foods can have a dramatic effect on your overall stress levels as can moderate exercise and freeing yourself of accumulated guilt.
There are many misperceptions around the weight loss conundrum. Many old wives tales (and some new ones) have dominated peoples thinking. At the end of the day most weight loss facts have quite a deep scientific/physiological background. They are logical and make far more sense when you really look into the meaning behind them.
There is no simple answer so it is worth considering the other aspects that need to be taken into consideration. Stress certainly has a negative effect on the body in a general sense so it is not too difficult to believe that it may have an effect on the body's ability to gain belly fat. Weight loss is about unearthing these gems of information so that we can use them to our advantage.

Weight Loss
If you search Google for weight loss plans, you get no less than 788,000 results. It is a minefield of information and misinformation. For the uninformed it can be the cause of disaster after disaster, as many of the diets are designed for a quick fix or are only suitable for a kick start. Although you may experience some weight loss in the early days, ultimately you may even experience a weight gain and a whole host of other health related problems.
One such diet plan is the Cabbage Soup Diet.
The diet is based on a low calorie soup that is low in fat and high in fiber. Some theories state that the cabbage soup is fat burning in itself, so by eating more of the soup you actually burn more fat and weight loss is experienced quite quickly. However, the reason the cabbage soup diet may work for some people is more likely to be due to the fact it is low in calories.
This sort of diet is not a well balanced diet and as such not suitable for long term weight loss. It may help jump start weight loss but should only be used for a couple of days at the most prior to a more sustainable long term weight management plan, that includes a well balanced diet and foods rich in protein that help to build lean muscle whilst burning fat.
In addition to the soup, you are allowed as much water as you want, and a very restricted set of other foods. This diet is not doing anything to develop healthy eating habits and is likely to result in loss of muscle rather than loss of fat. This will mean that any weight loss experienced will be temporary and may even result in a weight gain
Before making any significant changes to your diet, or exercise regime, you should consult a qualified nutritionist, who will able to help you to develop and follow a long term weight loss strategy that will ultimately be a diet for life.
It is worth considering that we can only physically lose approximately 2 lb (1 Kg) of fat per week. Any other weight loss will be due to a loss of water or a loss of muscle. If a diet promises you will lose 10 lb (5 Kg) in 2 weeks then you know that 6 lb (3 Kg) will be either muscle or water.

Weight Loss and Diet Pills
If you are serious about weight loss it is wise to find out what you can about healthy well balanced diets. Too many people today want a quick fix and are looking to weight loss pills as the answer to their prayers.
Wake up call! Wake up call folks. Diet pills for weight loss are dangerous to your health.
You won't be surprised to learn that diet pills are just propaganda. The pharmaceutical companies (they sell legal drugs) pay millions to tell you all the wonderful things diet pills will do for you. Diet pills are just bad news, period. The drug ephedra that they used to have in them was just a legal dose of meth (It speeds up your heart not your metabolism). Diet pills are drugs! Reference and research sources define it as a - -stimulant, a derivative of amphetamine, used illegally as a drug.- - Some of them are over the counter and that doesn't mean they're less potent, it just means they are less controlled.
The drug Ephedrine is also found in many diet pills and is probably the most dangerous. It has been linked to deaths from heart attacks, seizures and strokes. It would be a good idea to read the labels and do a bit of research when it comes to medicines and drugs. After all, it’s your life we are talking about. Doctors and health care professionals may not always tell you these important facts. Ephedrine, Caffeine, and Phenylpropranolamine are just some of the other dangerous and addictive substances found in diet pills. Don't risk your health for the sake of weight loss
Some diet pills have been shown to aid weight loss, but the down side of that is, diet pills have also caused people to have serious medical problems, including death! It would also be wise to stay away from the pills that contain caffeine or at least high doses of caffeine.
Prescription weight loss drugs are intended for people with serious weight problems, and should be used in conjunction with diet and exercise programs.
Any drugs are like a foreign body and have to be detoxified by the liver. Do your body a favor and keep your dieting simple. There are many sensible well balance diets available on the market that will aid your weight loss without the need for diet pills

Weight Loss Tips
Weight loss is a battle we wage daily, but there are always a few weight loss tips to help along the way.
You can cut the calories of your favorite foods by 50% without changing anything about them -- just eat half. For example, if you usually eat a deli sandwich at lunch, eat half it, but replace your chips with carrot sticks. Still hungry? Before you reach for the rest of your sandwich, munch on a piece of fruit. Try to make the piece of fruit an apple or a pear. The crunchiness helps and takes longer to eat. Produce takes longer to eat and digest than other foods, which means you'll have more time to notice you're getting full. The added fiber in both the carrots and fruit will help you feel more satisfied than chips would have and will certainly be more beneficial for your weight loss regime
When you are dining at a restaurant, ask the waiter for a take-out container as soon as he gets your order. Put half of your meal in the box as soon as it arrives. Try to eat slowly and enjoy the conversation and the restaurant's ambiance. Remember, it takes about 20 minutes to start to feel full, so eating at a slower pace will prevent you from overeating. Weight loss is so much easier to accomplish if you don't have to deal with the hunger pains. Eat slowly! You can always take some of the food back out of the carton at the restaurant if you're still truly hungry, but chances are you won't want to. If you take the container home, chances are, you will never eat it.
If warming up leftovers the next day isn't your cup of tea, find out if your eatery offers lunch-sized portions of their dishes. These are almost always significantly smaller than full-sized dinner entrees, so don't be afraid to ask if you can purchase the lunch entree at dinner time. As a last resort, if they resist, tell them you are on a weight loss program and need the smaller portions.
If that's not an option, ask to order from the children's menu ... practicing this portion control pointer will save your waistline some inches and your wallet some bucks.
Just how many of those chips are in a serving? Check the nutrition label to find out -- you may be surprised at how small an actual serving looks compared to what you usually eat. Learn what a serving is of your favorite snacks; start by measuring them out the next few times you eat them. Once you get into the habit of seeing how much a serving really looks like, you'll eventually be able to "eyeball" servings and know how much is too much. Most weight loss programs readily have available charts to let you know what the actual serving size should be. Weight loss is all about being aware.

Weight Loss
If we were to believe all we read in the media we could be forgiven for being totally confused by all the hype on diets and weight loss. Many diet gurus would have you believe that it is relatively easy to lose weight and some diet plans even suggest you can lose up to 11lb in 2 weeks. The problem arises when, having lost the weight, you start to put it all back on again and you are back to square one.
In order to really understand the process of weight loss we need to understand the process that made us overweight in the first place.
All human beings have a family of hormones and enzymes that are intended to fight the fat. Unfortunately our poor and inconsistent dietary habits means that changes take place in the body that make it more difficult for the body to lose fat and ultimately sustain any weight loss.
If we miss a meal or eat too many carbohydrates our bodies respond by elevating the stress hormones. The body then thinks it is in a life threatening situation and responds by releasing stored glycogen into the blood to raise the blood sugar. If this cycle is repeated on a regular basis our bodies will be experiencing bouts of high and low blood sugar causing the body to be over stressed and therefore unable to deal effectively with weight loss.
If the body has elevated blood sugar levels, the response is to release insulin to lower the blood sugar. Insulin levels will remain high if the body is consistently under nourished with the wrong food combinations. Excess insulin along with inactivity can prevent weight loss due to the fact that inactive muscles become insulin resistant and more and more calories are stored in the fat cells. This can ultimately progress to situation where the body becomes insulin resistant.
If you find yourself accumulating fat in the middle of your body then you have more than likely become insulin resistant. Weight loss can be very difficult if this is the case.
However even more important is the fact the fat accumulation will eventually extend to other
areas of the body and you will be come progressively more obese. As the muscles and fat cells become less sensitive to insulin, blood sugar levels will rise higher and the body will be forced to use the pancreas to help to lower the levels. In a worst case scenario this can result in Type 11 Diabetes.
If you are to succeed in your weight loss you need to be aware that there are various factors that help to determine how quickly and effectively you lose weight, one of which is turning fat into lean muscle. You need to eat right sort of foods for your metabolic type and do the appropriate exercises on a regular basis. Very often this can result in an initial weight gain as you gain muscle (which weighs more than fat). Then as if by magic your body will start to experience weight loss that can often seem to be faster than normal. Of course a weight gain, when on a weight loss diet, can be very disconcerting and many people give up mistakenly thinking that the diet isn't working for them
Because muscle is the most metabolically active tissue in your body, your ability to burn up unwanted fat and subsequently achieve weight loss is improved. However it is important to remember that although you may think that weight loss is your goal the chances are what you are really aiming for is a more streamlined body. If in order to achieve a more streamlined shape you need to convert fat into lean muscle and gain a bit of weight in the process, then weight loss has to become a secondary issue.
In order to help overcome this mind set it is a good idea when starting a diet to take your measurements as well as getting weighed. This way you will be relieved to find that you are losing inches even when your weight is seemingly staying the same. This will give you the incentive you need to continue

Weight Loss Made Easy
Here's a few helpful hints that make the weight loss game a little easier and give you an edge in the never ending battle:
1.Drink a glass or ice cold water as soon as you sit down for your meal. Or, enjoy a bowl of broth-based soup just before your entree.
2.Before having your meal, about 30 minutes before, precede your meal with an apple, raw vegetables or a salad with reduced fat dressing. Doing so will curb your appetite and give your diet a fiber boost. Remember, fiber is your best friend in this weight loss battle.
3. Keep your blood sugar (and your appetite) at an even keel all day long by not going any longer than 5 hours without having something to eat. Keep celery sticks, carrots, bell pepper strips close at hand for munchies. The crispy crunch helps weight loss by giving you a psychological boost.
4.Eat multiple, healthy mini meals throughout the day rather than a few large ones. This does mean a candy bar! We are talking fruits and veggies here.
5.Eat a carb and protein-comprised snack 1 to 2 hours before your meal. For example, reduced fat cheese and crackers or cereal with low-fat yogurt.
6.Avoid overeating due to emotions by talking to a counselor or close friend, or keeping a journal. Or, log on to a message board or chat room you enjoy to get support from your "virtual" friends. If those are not available, take a 30 minute walk.
7.Exercise! When you feel a binge coming on, exercise is a great way to elevate your mood and get your mind of food. It also relieves stress. Weight loss is never an easy project. Protect your emotional self with plenty of exercise.
8.When dining out, ask your server to package up half of your entree in to-go container when he brings your meal. Chances are you won't open that container and eat the rest there and then. Think about how many times you may have done this without realizing you just one a round in the weight loss battle by eating half the calories you normally would have.
Weight loss is a battle we wage everyday, and a good portion of it is done by just implementing a few little tricks.

Weight Loss
A Cold Weather Way To Burn Fat Fast
Weight loss in the winter can be an extra trial for many people as they feel the need to eat more to keep warm and also are less inclined to get out and do some exercise.
However if you change the way you look at it, winter can be the perfect time to walk off weight, even if you're not a "snow bunny". Sticking with your usual exercise routine is one of the best ways to boost your chances of starting the new year a size smaller. If you got used to walking outdoors throughout the summer months, switching to a different activity for cold weather in the winter can make your weight loss even more of a struggle, says John Jakicic, PhD, assistant professor in the weight control and diabetes research center at Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, RI.
Finding a new activity may mean organizing your day differently or doing something that you're not as comfortable with. Research shows that people who lose weight and keep it off do so by exercising the equivalent of walking 3 to 4 miles a day. No matter what the weather, they find a way--and you can too. We'll show you how to easily transition from fall to winter so that you can slim down--even during the holidays. You'll look fantastic come spring, your bones will stay strong, and your walking muscles won't be screaming when you head out for your first warm-weather jaunt.
Walking in the winter offers you a refreshing change of pace, says Alan Mikesky, PhD, director of the human performance and biomechanics laboratory at Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis. The invigorating cold air can clear your mind and reduce stress, which can be helpful for weight loss. Walking in the cold air may also encourage you to walk faster, raising your heart rate and therefore increasing your metabolism.
Research shows that stress can increase levels of cortisol, a hormone that may increase appetite and promote fat storage. Getting outside during daylight hours also increases levels of serotonin, a hormone that helps calm cravings. Fresh air and sunlight are also good for your overall health not just your weight loss
Why not treat yourself to a new, fleecy top. High-tech synthetic fabrics make a big difference to your comfort, so they're worth the investment. You'll be much happier and more energized if you're warm and dry instead of sweaty and chilled, and therefore more likely to continue with your exercise regime. Allow at least 10 minutes to warm up, as when it's cold, your heart and muscles need more time to get ready.
When you step outside, you should feel slightly chilled but not cold. During your workout, you want to feel warm, not hot and sweaty. That means you need to dress in layers so that you can take them off or put more on as needed. Don't forget a hat, gloves, and sunscreen!
On the Inside Track Your best winter weight loss buddy may be your treadmill. In a study led by Dr. Jakicic, women who had a treadmill in their home lost twice as much weight as those without one.
If the weather's bad or when it's dark outside, you can hop on a treadmill anytime, even if you only have a few minutes. Plus, if your treadmill is in constant view, it serves as a visual reminder. We can always make excuses why we don't do our daily exercise, but as soon as we recognise that they are just excuses, we can overcome our reticence and get to work on doing our bit towards our weight loss campaign
A treadmill also takes the guesswork out of working out. You can see how fast and far you're walking, which also allows you to workout your calorie burn and track your progress, says Bobby Kelly, creator of Treadmill Conditioning and owner of Results Only gym in Rockville, MD. Also, since walking is a natural movement, you may be more comfortable and better able to get a good workout than you would with an exercise machine that is unfamiliar to you.
Weight loss can be fun. If you find it a lonely existence then why not find a friend to accompany you on your journey.

Weight Loss
Weight loss is such a high profile subject that new research is coming out on a daily basis. However it is always worth finding out who has funded the research, as an impartial approach is essential if we are to receive a truthful outcome.
Recently research has found that with all three macronutrients - protein, carbs or fat - daily calorie intake was significantly greater when the beverage form was consumed as compared to the solid. Apparently the protein drinks did not satisfy the appetite the way that protein foods did! So weight loss is not necessary guaranteed with these liquids meal replacements.
It was thought that protein drinks would be an effective part of a weight loss regime, mainly because protein foods have been proven to reduce appetite and increase satiety. However if you convert solid protein into a protein drink, it loses it's appetite suppressive properties. A similar thing happens when you turn fruit into fruit juice.
Looking at the available research, there are at least 7 scientific studies that have provided strong evidence that energy containing beverages (i.e., "liquid calories") do not properly activate the satiety mechanisms in the body and brain and do not satisfy the appetite as well as food in solid form. Having tried them myself I can vouch for the fact that the drinks left me with a feeling of just being full of liquid. Not satisfying at all. However if I mixed the powder with a food such as yoghurt and a banana, the satiety value increased significantly and I did go on to lose weight.
The reasons given for the lack of satiety value of the liquid calories were:
high calorie density
lower satiety value
more calories ingested in short period of time
lower demand for oral processing
shorter gastrointestinal transit times
energy in beverages has greater bioaccessibility and bioavailability
mechanisms may include cognitive, orosensory, digestive, metabolic, endocrine and neural influences ( proving that the human appetite is a complex thing!!!)
last but not least, nowhere in our history have our ancestors had access to large amounts of liquid calories, even of the protein variety.
As with many "nouveau foods" that appear on our supermarket shelves, our genetic code has never developed the physiological mechanisms needed to deal with these foods. We are not able to properly register the caloric content in liquids the way we do when we eat, chew and swallow whole foods.
Bottom line: This study suggests that if you're trying to beat body fat,(weight loss) it's wise to limit all types of liquid calories and eat whole foods as much as possible, so that the body can process the food in the best way it knows how.
With regard to liquid beverages apart from the protein drinks, if you really want to achieve successful weight loss, start by removing the soda and other fizzy drinks from your diet. Then get rid of the high calorie dessert coffees. Apart from anything else coffee plays havoc with your metabolism. Then cut back on the alcohol, another high calorie stimulant that your body can well do without. From there, be cautious even about milk, juice and especially protein drinks, that may be the mainstay of your weight loss diet.
Drink water or herb teas instead, or limited amounts of black coffee or tea - without all the high calorie extras.
It is worth remembering that if you do consume any beverages that contain calories, such as protein shakes, be sure to account for those calories meticulously and be sure you don't drink them in addition to your usual food intake, but in place of an equal amount of food calories.
Protein shakes are intended to be "meal replacements" not "free calories!"
As your weight loss program is about reprograming your dietary habits, it would be far better if you concentrated on eating proper food that is chosen for its health promoting properties rather than supplementing or replacing your healthy food with a liquid diet

Weight Loss
Weight loss is not a simple issue. There are many complexities that make it very hard to fathom
We've been hearing a lot about dieting, obesity and weight regulating in recent years, mainly through the media, but one thing we don't hear much about is how much your thyroid has to do with weight gain and weight loss. Proper thyroid gland function regulates body metabolism, blood calcium levels, energy, excess fats, hormones, oxygen, weight loss.
Under active thyroid gland symptoms include appetite loss, chronic fatigue, constipation, depression, dry skin, hair loss, infections, cold sensitivity, low body temperature, muscle weakness, overweight, painful premenstrual periods, slow growth or speech, tiredness, and weight gain/ difficulty with weight loss
The thyroid gland is needed for proper growth and development, as well as the storage and distribution of water and salt. The thyroid gland itself needs the right nutrients to function. Iodine and all the amino acids are necessary for the body to complete this natural cycle of synthesis as well as oxygen, hydrogen and other elements. The complete process will not occur unless the body has every component.
Iodine has 3 main functions. Firstly, the blood circulates through the thyroid gland every 17 minutes If there are sufficient reserves of iodine, germs are rendered weaker and eventually killed in the blood. If the iodine intake is low, the thyroid gland is deprived and becomes less efficient.
Secondly iodine calms the body and relieves nervous tension. When tension from stress runs high, there is irritability and difficulty in sleeping. Iodine will lessen nervous tension, relax the body, and enable it to reorganize.
Thirdly iodine helps us to think more clearly. The mind works better when the body is supplied with iodine. The thyroid gland needs iodine to metabolize the stored excess natural fats in the body. If this food is not properly burned off, it may be stored as unwanted fats, making weight loss more difficult to achieve.
Major cause of heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers, have been attributed to being over weight. Most everyone is lacking in energy today; the body burns good natural fat and turns it into energy. Good fats are digested (broken down) and used to produce bile for digestion; they are used by the lymphatic system and the thyroid gland. Weight Loss
Weight loss is a challenge to even the most motivated of us. Changing our diets after years of bad eating habits is not easy to achieve. The problem is many of us don't take the matter seriously enough and want to achieve miracles.
How many times have you tried to lose weight and wanted to see results immediately? We want the extra pounds to come off overnight. Safe and effective weight loss takes time. It took years to put on the extra weight but when we want to get rid of it we think it can be done quickly. It would be nice but it just doesn't work that way. To have safe and sustained weight loss you must be patient. Patience is a very important part of any weight loss plan. Without it, many people become discouraged and will give up because the weight loss is not happening fast enough for them. It's almost a characteristic today's society, we want everything right now!
A vital part of any weight loss plan is changing our eating habits. Weight loss occurs when calorific output exceeds calorific input. The best way to reduce caloric intake is to make a change in the foods we eat, but it must be done in a way that ensures you are eating the correct type of foods to lose weight. Just reducing calories can in fact have the reverse effect so make sure you know what you are doing. If you do not take a healthy interest the food you eat it will be very difficult to lose weight let alone maintain any significant weight loss.
If you are serious about weight loss then most likely you will have to educate yourself on what foods you should be eating. It's so important to know what we are eating in order to help us lose weight. You may be surprised to discover that some of the foods you now eat that just aren't very healthy. It takes a lot of self discipline in order to change ones eating habits, or for that matter, any habit. Many of us have become accustomed to eating foods that are unhealthy, but, they are very tempting and very delicious. We have almost become addicted to these foods. Our taste buds crave them even though we know they are not the best foods for us. One of the most difficult things for some people is to reprogram their taste buds. We almost have to train ourselves to like the taste of many new foods and also to wean ourselves of the foods that are bad for us.
Exercise is an important aspect of a weight loss plan. Exercise helps the body burn off those unwanted calories. It also builds lean muscle which not only speeds up your metabolic rate but improves your appearance as lean muscle will replace fat. Some people think that any type of physical activity will help us lose weight, but that isn't strictly true. It is better to choose the right sort of exercise for your own personal needs especially when trying to lose weight. It does not have to be an extreme exercise program. You don't even have to join a gym. But you do need to get more physically active. If you have been inactive for years it may be very challenging for you to begin some sort of exercise regime. But if you want to be successful then you will have to make time to exercise, even if to begin with it is just walking around the block a few times each day. Just get busy!
To achieve lasting weight loss you must be patient. You don't want weight loss to happen too fast or you'll end up quitting. Change your eating habits and search out those healthy new foods that are good for you. Finally, get active. Remember to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you eat. Put all three together and you will have a better chance of weight loss over a long term.

Weight Loss
Weight Loss is becoming a massive industry, not only for the health services around the world but also for "big business". The "average Joe" who thinks they will jump on the latest bandwagon to make some money. Unfortunately due to the fact that there are many fad diets out there that promise unrealistic results, many desperate dieters will find themselves constantly moving from one diet to another to find the one that offers then lasting success.
Are you a weight loss yoyo-er? Do you lose weight only to put it back on again time after time? Perhaps you even put more weight on than before and your weight is gradually creeping up higher and higher and you don't know what to do about it. Well it may help you to know that you are not alone in this and weight loss yoyo-ers are on the increase.
Once you get into the cycle of weight off - weight on, your body, not surprisingly, becomes confused. Once upon a time your body had a set point, a weight that was the norm for you. With repeated weight gain followed by weight loss followed by weight gain etc etc, your body is constantly changing that set point until it is at a higher rate than you would like it to be. It can then be very difficult to attain the weight loss you so desire. Your body plateaus and any further weight loss seems like an impossibility. When this happens we often we get frustrated and disheartened and give up on the weight loss diet thinking it isn't working. This inevitably results in our weight starting to increase once again to an unacceptable level.
So what can you do to re regulate your set point? First and foremost, it is important to realize that you are going to have to be far more persistent in your approach to weight loss. One of the reasons you find it difficult to sustain your weight loss is because your adrenal glands have become exhausted. Very often when you have been on a weight loss diet month after month, perhaps not following a well structured diet, maybe cutting calories or missing meals or eating too many carbohydrates, your body is constantly in a fight or flight state. This situation will inevitably leave you tired confusing your metabolism and encouraging it to turn to stimulants such as tea, coffee, and diet drinks as a pick me up to compensate for what may well have been an energy deficient diet. Unfortunately this just activates the sympathetic nervous system to release more stress hormones which in turn requires more stimulants and so the cycle goes on and weight loss becomes less and less likely. This vicious circle can be almost impossible to break without professional help.
In my experience people who have been on a "not so healthy" weight loss diet will inevitably have lost some muscle as well as fat. As muscle burns energy this will not help your weight loss regime as a decreased muscle mass means a lower metabolic rate. Yet another vicious cycle your body has to find a way to break. This increases your chances gaining weight rather than losing weight and so the yoyo effect continues.
As I said at the beginning of this article, the weight loss industry is big business and it is not in their interest for you to lose weight forever. This may be a hard pill to swallow, but sadly it is true. If everybody lost weight easily and permanently there would be no weight loss industry and many people would be out of a job. If you want to know if your weight loss plan is a good one then it needs to have a good scientific explanation so that you are certain it is going to work to not only help you to lose weight but also the gain health. If it sounds amazing, maybe too good to be true, then it is probably a fad diet that will do nothing to help you to achieve permanent weight loss
Weight loss is a serious issue. It is not something to "play" with. Your future health is dependant on you losing weight so take your diet seriously. If weight loss has been an issue for you for many years then it would be advisable to get the advice and support of a professional weight loss coach who can monitor your progress.
You need to be patient and remember it has probably taken you many years to become over weight particularly if you have been a weight loss yoyo-er, so it is likely take time to crack the cycle and achieve permanent weight loss. Remember also that tackling your weight loss problem also means that you are improving your overall health.
At the end of the day health is the most important thing. There is no point in looking forward to early retirement and all the enjoyable things that freedom can bring if you haven't got the health to make the most of them

A Healthy Diet for Controlled Weight Loss
We are fast becoming a very sick and unhealthy population. With all the advances in modern medicine we could be forgiven for assuming that our health should be improving whereas the truth of the matter is our health in this day and age is far worse than any other time in recorded history! There is no doubt that sickness affects us directly, causing untold suffering and hardship.
In the year 2000, the U.S. population was 276 million. Nearly half of the population -- 125 million Americans -- lived with some type of chronic condition. About 60 million lived with multiple chronic conditions. Examples of chronic conditions are diabetes, cancer, glaucoma and heart disease. The number of people with chronic conditions is growing at an alarming rate and this does not include the over-weight and obese people, who are trying and failing in their attempts at weight loss
So Why Are We Sick?
It may appear to be cynical but basically we get sick because poor health is economically profitable for a lot of big companies and shareholders. Including:
* The food industry with all the 'designer' junk foods and beverages that hold no nutritional value and actually make us fat(overweight) and sick.
* All the polluting industries that fill our lives and bodies with harmful chemicals and toxins.
* The 'sick care' industry that figured out long ago that there's a lot more money to be made in treating symptoms with drugs and surgeries in expensive hospitals than in patient education, prevention and natural medicine and weight loss.
We live in the age of fast food, canned food, frozen food, packaged food, and many other types of processed and 'convenience foods'. All this food is intended to cater for the modern stressful lifestyle we are all leading. If you wish to lead a healthy life it is important to realise that you need to take responsibility for the food you eat. You need to educate yourself to understand the effects that processed foods can have on your health and also for those who are obese the effect processed food can have on your weight loss.
Foods that are now termed partially hydrogenated vegetable oils contain trans fats, which are harmful. Trans fats increase the bad cholesterol (LDL) and deplete the good cholesterol (HDL) levels. They make arteries rigid and clog them, resulting in heart problems. They cause insulin resistance and contribute to Type 2 diabetes. Trans fats pose a serious overall health risk, much more serious than saturated fats found in meat and dairy products. Don't be tempted by their claims to improve weight loss.
It can be very tempting to buy processed foods that state that they are "low-calorie" or "healthy" or "diet" or "low sugar" and so on. Despite their labels, they are probably more likely to add to your weight problems and your health risks. Even ready-to-eat meals supplied by the food outlets that seem to make your life comfortable and easy may have used processed food products, so be wary particulary if weight loss is what you are aiming for
Depend more on fresh foods, do not be discouraged just because they are a little more expensive. Eat wholesome fresh foods in the interest of maintaining good health and ensuring healthy weight loss.

Weight Loss
Weight loss is a complex issue. Diet has always been thought to be the most important part of any dietary regime. However very few will disagree that exercise is also animportant part of a weight loss program. Exercise also has a secondary benefit, not only does it help us get rid of those extra pounds but it helps improve our overall health. So what really takes place in the body when we exercise? What changes occur and how does our body processes work together to achieve these benefits?
When we eat any food we are consuming calories and we also at the same time we burn up calories as we go through our daily routines. If our daily activities burn less calories than we take in, then we are going to gain weight. If we do not have enough physical activity in our normal routine of life, then we must find a way to burn more calories. Exercise is the most efficient way to do this. But exercise not only burns off calories as we are doing the exercising, it also has a very important after effect beneficial in anyones attempt to achieve weight loss.
Exercise raises the metabolism, the body's mechanism for burning calories. What happens is that by raising our metabolism we not only burn more calories as we exercise, but the body continues to burn calories for a period even after we finish exercising. It's like our body knows what is best for us, so it continues to work a little overtime to help us with weight loss. Exercise gives us that feel good factor, but it feels better knowing that our body's continues to burn calories for a period after we have finished exercising.
If you are looking to achieve weight loss you will be concerned with muscle tissue and fat. The muscles in our bodies use up energy and burn off the calories/fat. Even when we are at rest our muscles will be using energy, thus burning calories. However, we know that it certainly isn't enough to lose weight or all we would have to do is sleep. While muscle tissue burns calories, the opposite is true of fat tissue. Fat cells store calories. As you can see there is an intrinsic link between muscles and fat?
One uses calories and the other stores calories. More muscle means burning more fat, and therefore there are less calories to be stored in our fat cells. Since our muscles need energy, the more muscle tissue we have the faster our metabolism runs. The faster our metabolism runs the more calories we burn up. The more calories we burn off the more weight loss we achieve.
If we look at this sort of physiological information it should help us to understand the intricacies of how to lose weight. So why not take time to learn how the body works and what will help you achieve sustained weight loss. This way you will know why it is necessary to exercise as part of your regime

Weight Loss according to Body Type?
We are all unique individuals and just as we have different talents and different attitudes so we also have diferent body types.
Your body type is a scientific classification of your overall body shape, and and it is determined by a combination of certain physical characteristics. Your genes determine your body type therefore, your body shape will develop from birth to adulthood. Body types can never be changed and no matter what type you possess, you can still achieve weight loss relatively quickly with the correct choices of food and tactics for weight loss or weight control.
There are three basic body types for male and female are: Endomorph, Ectomorph and Mesomorph.
Endomorphs: The naturally big boned person characterized with a round face, a soft and flabby body in general, wide hips, bigger waist, slow metabolism and high number of fat cells. This type usually finds weight loss a constant struggle.
Ectomorphs: The skinny person with a linear appearance, small muscles, ultra fast metabolism, low body fat, narrow shoulders, hips and waist. Doesn't usually have to worry about weight loss.
Mesomorphs: The naturally muscular person with wide shoulders, small waist, athletic build, low body fat percentage with an increase metabolism.
You may think that you fit into more than one category. This may well be true as it is extremely rare for an individual to display all of characteristics for their body type. We all display some characteristics from each body type, although one type will usually dominate. It is the dominant type of characteristics which determine the actual body types assigned to us.
In fact whatever the body type, if we want to achieve weight loss we need to create a negative energy balance or a calorie deficit. The number of calories we cut from our intake needs to be sufficient enough in order to see some results fairly quickly. So if we begin a new diet by cutting our calorie intake by about 500 per day we will lose weight over the course of a week or two. However just cutting calories is now not deemed to be a sensible way to approach weight loss
So what happens to our bodies when we choose to cut calories? During a calorie deficit our bodies still require the same amount of energy so they start to use up energy stores to make up for this 500 calorie deficit. However, as our bodies inevitably use up extra proteins for energy AND to maintain normal protein synthesis, we end up with a net loss of total protein. This results in a gradual loss of lean muscle, and this is the start of a lowered metabolism and consequently a slower weight loss
Muscle loss may not be obvious when looking in the mirror because the body will take it from other, less priority areas and not just from our skeletal muscles. The stomach is a classic area where protein is broken down for use, as there's less need for a large stomach capacity because we have lowered our food intake. Ever noticed how we can no longer eat those big meals we once used to eat before dieting?
It would appear therefore that although you may need to cut down on the amount of food you it is vitally important you don't drastically cut your calories as you may be doing your body and your weight loss more harm than good

Weight Loss Tips
If you have ever tried to stick to a weight loss diet you will know how hard it can be. Dieting takes some dedication and stickability. Sometimes we can end up back where we started or worst still even putting on a few more pounds. Here are some suggestions to help you to lose a few pounds without losing interest.
1) Cutting out all the foods that you love can be a difficult thing to do so try to eat lower calorie versions of them. Go for the low fat and low sugar versions and make sure the low fat version isn't loaded with sugar. You also need to make sure that the low sugar version hasn't had the sugar replaced with sweeteners as this can be even worse if weight loss is your goal.
2) Are your portion sizes far too big? The larger the portions the more calories you are consuming and more calories means the likelihood of a few extra pounds evry so often. Try putting your food on a smaller plate.
3) Never think of exercise as being exercise. Instead, look at it in a different way. For example, you could go swimming or walking with a friend and think of it as just a pastime instead a way of achieving weight loss.
4) Weight loss diets can easily feel like you are denying yourself foods. Instead of thinking this way add new foods to your diet such as interesting fruits and vegetables. When people think of diets they think of having to go without, but, in this case you are adding instead of taking away.
5) If you don't like the idea of exercise then just go walking whenever you can, walking is a great form of exercise and many people don't class it as exercise. You can also try to go up and down stairs more often or maybe get outside and do some gardening. Your weight loss will be enhanced when you embark on some exercises so don't ignore this important part of your regime
6) Before your main meal drink one or two glasses of water at least 25 minutes before you plan to sit down to eat. This will help you to feel full and therefore you will eat less
Above all, be patient when it comes to achieving your weight loss. Don't try to lose too much weight all at once and realize that once you have lost the weight you will have to keep up with your healthier lifestyle to ensure you don't put it all back on.

Weight Loss
People are often surprised when they are told they are overweight because they don't eat enough! But the real answer is to "Eat More Small Meals for Weight Loss". Healthy snacking or if you prefer to call them 'small meals' will make it easier to lose weight, the body needs regular fuel to speed up the metabolic process.
However it is important to stress that "eat more" doesn't mean eating very large meals that are laden with calories. Small nutritious meals more often is the key, so if you are the sort of person who eats very large portions then one way for you to be successful with weight loss is to gradually start reducing the portions of the meals but at the same time increasing how often you eat.5 small meals a day is far better than 3 large meals
Our digestive systems are more likely to work more efficiently with a small meal and thus we assimilate the nutrients more efficiently, giving ourselves more energy after the meal. Big meals make us sluggish and we fail to utilise a lot of the nutrition. For successful weight loss have some quick easy preplanned snacks. There are good selections of protein bars and health drinks, fresh fruit and keep fresh raw vegetables cleaned and cut up with a dip you like. Experiment with new foods, like a tofu dip with spices you like or maybe a hummous dip. If you have never tried it or didn't use a good mix, find a new recipe and try again. Tofu is high in protein and has NO taste so itt takes on the taste of whatever you add to it.
There is less potential energy in a small meal to be stored as fat. This of course gives you the opportunity to burn off excess fat and help you have a steady flow of weight loss.
With the concept of eating small meals and eating more often, you get triple benefits for your efforts. There will be fewer calories, increased metabolic rate and less chance of feeling bloated. Weight Loss is within your reach.
An excellent tip that can be very helpful for dieters is to drink a large glass of pure water ½ hour before the meal and don't drink again until 1 hour after the meal. The water will take the edge of your appetite. Did you know that often when you think you are hungry, you really are thirsty. Give it a chance. You've got nothing to lose but weight.

Weight Loss
Have ever walked into a supplement store and asked for information about weight loss, fat-burning or muscle-building supplements...
Have you ever bought the latest best-selling diet book...
Have you ever watched TV and listened to a weight loss or fitness guru talk about an amazing new diet, exercise machine or slimming pill...
Have you ever surfed the web for information about diet, nutrition or weight loss programs..
If you have done any of the above then the chances are you've been told many weight loss lies!
Honest, accurate information about nutrition and weight loss is harder to come by than ever before, and nearly everyone has been misled at one time or another. This may of course be that the so called guru thinks that the information they are giving is correct and may have been misled themselves. But to ensure that you are receiving or giving accurate and honest weight loss information you need to look very carefully at the scientific evidence surrounding the weight loss claims
If you are a regular dieter then you will no doubt be familiar with the problem of belly fat. Belly fat has become the dieters curse. No matter how successful your weight loss program has been undoubtedly you will be left with the problem of stubborn belly fat. This is particularly frustrating for women who are looking for that slim-line figure, but no matter how hard you try the problem persists.
Unfortunately women are born with more fat cells than men, mainly for the purpose of protecting and nourishing our babies. So weight loss, especially the removal of that stubborn mid section fat, can actually be a lot harder for women than for men.
One of the most important principles in any weight loss program is that people like to see visible results quickly. Getting rid of that bloated belly can be a great incentive for most people. Better to get rid of it from the start than be left with it at the end of your diet
So what is the cause of this bloated belly?
Inflammation caused by foods your body is intolerant to, is one of the main reasons for a bloated belly, especially if that belly is of the pot belly variety. Inflammation and excess gas caused by undigested food particles can be a major cause of both inflammation and a bloated belly. Most people who have been on a weight loss diet will be familiar with the term water retention and although this can often be more prevalent in the ankles and other joints it can also be a contributory factor for a swollen midsection .
For weight loss to take place it is advisable to address these underlying intolerances first especially if you want to a flat belly not a fat belly as a result. You will then feel that your weight loss program will be much more successful.

Weight loss for the over 40's
If you are in the over 40's age bracket, then you may be aware that your metabolism has started to slow down a little and your ability to sustain or lose weight has become more diffcult. The older you get the more aware you will become of this happening to your body.
As we get older the need to be concerned about keeping our metabolism fired up increases and ensures that weight loss doesn't become an issue for us. As our bodies undergo the ravages of time, keeping that belly flat becomes even more important as we attempt to look and feel our best.
We know only too well that diet alone isn't enough for consistent and sustained weight loss. In addition to diet exercise is an vital part of the equation. However what a lot of people don't realize is that only certain types of exercise will give them the desired results. If you want to develop a flat belly and a well defined six pack then you must follow the recomended protocols
Hundreds of crunches, leg lifts, and twists, may feel as though you are doing all the right things yet a six-pack is nowhere to be found. Sound familiar? If so, it's time you got off the floor and on your feet again, because the only way you're going to achieve the shape you want is to reduce your body fat. In fact you will not ony be reducing your body fat but you will be turning it into lean muscle
Generally speaking, the men and women you see adorning the pages of fitness magazines have a body fat percentage of less than ten percent. And, as you can tell by looking at them, they definitely have ab muscles. The truth of the matter is - so do you; the only difference is you can't see yours, because they're hidden behind a layer of subcutaneous fat.
In order to shed this fatty layer and expose your six-pack, stick to a well balanced diet. No simple sugars (that includes white flour products), eat plenty of good quality protein, and follow a cardio program that works for you. This means engaging in a high-intensity interval training workout, which has been shown to reduce fat at a rapid rate thus enhancing weight loss
Another suggestion is to incorporate a resistance training program, into your fitness regime. A weightlifting circuit routine is probably a good idea as this will have the effect of building lean muscle which in turn will help to raise your metabolism and burn fat. Follow this approach your ab muscles will be evident in no time. It is important to beware that even though your goal may be to lose weight you may find that your weight loss becomes a weight gain in the short term due to the fact that muscle weighs heavier than fat
This type of exercise regime is not just for the youthful members of our world but for the older generation also. In fact it is thought that general health is improved in the elderly if they have a sensible fitness regime that incorporates weight training. It is also worth remembering that as our metabolism continues to slow down as we age, correct eating habits and appropriate fitness programs become even more important if we are to have sustained weight loss and are to enjoy full health and fitness as we approach our later years.
Remember age is only a problem if you allow it to be

Fast Weight Loss
So many diets today offer fast weight loss as a way of encouraging the overweight population to buy into the latest fad dietary system. "Lose 10lb in 2 weeks". Claims such as this are aimed at a very vulnerable sector of the community who are desperate to lose weight and the thought of losing weight quickly is very encouraging
Although fast weight loss would appear to be the answer to their dreams, surely permanent weight loss is actually a better option, especially in the long run. Many people end up being yoyo dieters as a result of fast weight loss diets, as if you lose weight too quickly you are inevitably losing water and muscle as well as losing fat. As soon as you start eating normally, you will regain this weight very quickly.
Anyone looking for fast weight loss is really only concerned with the weight they see when they stand on the bathroom scales. There is a misconception that this a measure of success or failure. This couldn't be further from the truth. The weight lost will inevitably be a combination of fat loss, water loss and muscle loss. This is not necessarily what we want to see.
If we are concerned with health as well as weight loss, we should be concerned about both the amount of
fat tissue and the amount of lean muscle tissue.
Hormone Imbalances
Exercise
So you can see that weight loss is a complex issue and fast weight loss should be viewed cautiously if you are to achieve the desired long term results that will benefit your overall health

Weight Loss Program
Create Your Own Weight Loss Program
The time has finally come that you realize that you need to start a weight loss program. But, what plan will you follow, there are a lot of plans and methods available on the Internet for a person to use. But, have you ever thought about creating your own weight loss plan? A Weight loss program can serve as motivation and as a guide for a lot of people, and have helped them realize their goals for weight loss.
Doing your own thing.
Educate yourself. Get familiar with the different types of diets that are out there. Be aware of fad diets, supplements that can do more harm than good. After doing some reading, you may find yourself putting together several components from different diets, thereby building your own unique diet. The most important thing is to eat healthy foods no matter what diet you pursue.
Calories, fat, carbohydrates and sugar are all important in your diet, and it's important to not eat too much – or too little of one thing. Depending on your personality type, you may be able to allow junk food in your diet once in awhile, rather than eliminating it forever. Or, if you're more like me, you may allow yourself cheat days every so often.
Keeping track.
No matter what kind of weight loss program you decide to follow, whether it be a structured plan or your own, I feel it's important to keep track of what you're eating. Keeping a journal of calorie intake, along with sugar and fat intake will keep you aware of what you consume. It also helps you in real life: soon you'll have all kinds of food and the caloric content memorized. Bonus if you weigh and measure everything – after a short period of time you will be able to eyeball anything and know how much you're getting.
Weight Loss and Exercise
Exercise is important. While I haven't been exercising like I should following my diet, I am aware that I should be. My most successful weight loss program using the low fat diet proved this: I exercised at least 5 days a week. I lost weight a bit faster, but more importantly I kept it off.
But, don't let having to exercise along with dieting put you off from starting a weight loss program. I think it's perfectly ok to start a diet and then begin exercising down the road. If you are obese like I started off my diet – I was physically unable to do much of anything. As I lose weight, I am increasingly able to get more movement in a day.
I've never stepped foot inside a gym – and I'm not sure I want to. I'm not comfortable with exercising around other people, and prefer to do my workouts at home. This has not been a motivational issue for me, but for some, it could be. If you need support, ask friends, your partner or a coworker if they would like to accompany you. Take it slowly if you are designing your own program.
Put your weight loss program in writing.
If you have a plan of action for your weight loss program, record it in some manner. Record any exercise you participate in, as well as eating, any/all results – as discussed above. It can be a great motivator as you try to improve with each passing day.
Creating your own weight loss program can be challenge and a huge motivator for you to succeed with your goals. Have fun and good luck.

However even more important is the fact the fat accumulation will eventually extend to other areas of the body and you will be come progressively more obese. As the muscles and fat cells become less sensitive to insulin, blood sugar levels will rise higher and the body will be forced to use the pancreas to help to lower the levels. In a worst case scenario this can result in Type 11 Diabetes.
If you are to succeed in your weight loss Weight lossyou need to be aware that there are various factors that hellp to determine how quickly and effectively you lose weight, one of which is turning fat into lean muscle. You need to eat right sort of foods for your metabolic type and do the appropriate exercises om a regular basis.
In order to help vercome this mind set it is a good idea when starting a diet to take your measurements as well as getting weighed. This way you will be relieved to find that you are losing inches even when your weight is seemingly staying the same. This will give you the incentive you need to continue

The Abs Weight Loss Diet
The Abs Weight Loss Diet Plan is one of many diet plans that have sprung up in response to the ever growing number of people who are overweight or obese. Many of these diets make claims that you will exerience miraculous weight loss in a given amount of time. The Abs plan is one of those diets. Bearing in mind that it is not possible to lose more than 2lb of fat in a week the claims made by this diet need to viewed cautiously
This is a diet and exercise plan which claims it can help you lose 12lbs of fat from your stomach in two weeks. The Abs Diet two week plan involves a restrictive food list and three exercise sessions a week. It is designed to target your belly fat. This diet was specifically designed with men in mind, however, women also follow the plan to try and tone their midsection. Many people report great results of weight loss using this diet.
During the first two weeks of the Abs Diet, you are restricted to twelve so called "super foods". These foods are supposed to maximize your metabolism and target the weight around your midsection. No other food can be consumed and you must also complete three, 20 minute workouts every week. The workouts are not just any old workout of your choosing, but workouts designed specifically for this diet to improve weight loss.
After two weeks, when you should have lost close to 12lbs, you can reintroduce some foods into your diet, but you must maintain the exercise regime. Weight loss after two weeks should be an additional 5lbs; you should not follow the plan for more than four weeks.
This diet undoubtedly encourages weight loss, and the Abs Diet foods included in the plan are ideal for good health. However, most doctors agree it is impossible to "target" your weight loss. If you lose weight, you lose if from all over your body, not just one section.
It might be a good idea to compare the Abs Diet to other flat abs diet plans to see which is best suited for you. It is recommended that before you start any weight loss diet plan, you check with your doctor.

Teen Weight Loss Tips
Tips on Weight Loss for Teens
Its never easy during teenager years, especially if you are overweight. Prior to starting any weight loss program, is consult a doctor or dietitian to determine if your teen is indeed overweight or if he/she needs to lose weight fast. If a teen is really overweight, then moral and emotional support is one of the basic things needed to overcome their weight problems. The problem has actually escalted during the past 10 years with rising obesity rates among teenagers and this is espcially a sensitive topic for many.
Just remember that weight loss and weight management is a long-term process and involves not just the person who is trying to lose weight. It also involves the people who prepare his/her food, as well as many other factors. Teens that have the support of their families show better results in weight reduction programs that those teens that try to lose weight on their own. There are no quick fixes and if someone is promoting such a program, then you really need to do your research. Slow, safe and effective weight loss programs are the way to go.
Did you know recent medical studies recommend losing not more than two pounds per week? Weight loss can be accomplished through a combination of programs, including exercise and decreased calorie intake. Make sure to get into a program that helps you lose weight the right way. Just Google weight loss and see all the available information. There are many great resources available, but you just need to do be careful.
I personally always recommend you check with your doctor because the medical community warns that it is unsafe to lose more than 2% of your body weight in a period of 24-48 hours. The results would be a decrease in aerobic performance and endurance. Meanwhile, losing more than 5% of your body weight in three to four days will have detrimental effects on your power, muscle endurance and strength, aerobic performances and even mental concentration. Take the necessary pre-cautions.
In addition to exercise, you need to compliment this increased activity with the right diet. Avoid drinks that are high in calories like sodas, high-sugar juices, and other drinks. Stay away from low calorie drinks that are sweetened with sugar substitutes such as aspartame. These products have been proven to have serious detrimental effects over the long term. Make sure that you drink lots of water and fruit juices that do not have added sugar. This will help you stay away from those sodas.
More often than not, we all tend to go back to our normal ways quickly if changes are introduced drastically. That’s why it is better to move forward gradually rather than leaping two to three steps forward and finding yourself five steps back after a few weeks. It took awhile for the weight gain, then its going to take awhile to lose it as well.
One great tip to reduce your food intake is to stop eating when you’re already full. Avoid eating when you’re emotionally unstable. This happens a lot, especially in teens with constant body changes.
Have you ever noticed that people tend to eat because they are bored, lonely, or stressed and this is despite the fact that they are already full. Eat slowly since it will take about 20 minutes before your brain recognizes the amount of food in your stomach. A good strategy here is to put down your fork or spoon after each mouthful. Eat slowly, and take the time to really enjoy what you eat. It’s probably one of the few times during the day to relax with your family and enjoy some quality time together.
Be sure to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. As much as possible,
replace your junk food intake with fruits or vegetables. Not only will you lose weight, but it will keep your heart and body healthy. Also, don’t replace food groups or avoid eating them in your attempt at weight loss.
Just getting through your young adult years can be challenging enough. The problem is compounded if you are overweight as a teenager. One thing to help you, avoid such forms of diets since your body still needs the nutrients for growth and development. It is better to go about losing weight the more natural way. It will create discipline and is more sustainable in the long run. Eat properly, get lots of rest and get some exercise each if possible. Even 20 to 30 minutes a day can make all the difference and perhaps avoid you having to go onto a strict weight loss program. (read more)
